The press is extolling California Senator Kamala Harris as the Next Big Thing on the U.S. political scene in assorted reports. They're calling her inevitable and the next Barack Obama.
Oh, spare us.
The latest and worst version of this Hollywood-grade build-up comes from U.S. News & World Report, in a big piece titled "The Inevitability of Kamala Harris," carrying faint echos of the progressive claims of the "inevitability" of their version of "progress."
She may well be the person the Democrats pick as their nominee for president, but she's hardly a shoe-in for the presidency, particularly in the age of Trump.
She's billed as someone young and fresh in a party dominated by gerontocrats, but her act is actually pretty old.
What does she offer for starters?
She's a woman. And she's black.
"With an Indian mother and a Jamaican father, Harris strikes some observers as a California version of Barack Obama," the Los Angeles Times wrote in October 2004, during Harris' first year of elected office and a month before Obama was elected to the U.S. Senate.

Just empty identity politics as a substitute for ideas, on the grounds that she isn't an individual, but someone who 'represents.' That logic presumptuously assumes that all women and black people all have the exact same interests. We all want the same abortion and affirmative action privileges, so the thinking goes. And a woman who happens to be black will, robotlike, follow that template precisely and all will be well. Not a word out there about differing interests, such as the right to not have to finance abortions, or the problem of seeing African and Caribbean immigrants and their children take all the affirmative action slots

Atlanta is in a black-white mayoral contest. The (much favored) black candidate, a leftist woman, brought Harris here, along with some other black Dem big guns, to push leftist causes—principally “reproductive rights.” This in a city whose infrastructure is crumbling and whose homeless population is escalating.
The kenyan won twice. A nothing from Chicago was sold just like dish washing detergent. They will sell her the same way.
Like Obama, she’s another racial/gender book upon which the Democrats will write a manufactured biography and leftist fantasy.
They’ll turn her into superwoman over the next 18 months.
Why don’t the Democrats just have Obama claim he’s female and is a new person and run him again.
Oh boy, here we go again. Another political creation. This woman has basically fallen into every seat she has occupied. The left will be slobbering over her as they throw Hitlery under the bus.
Think she’d prefer “lionessization” ?
If the electorate was dumb enough to elect a leftist, black Kenyan twice, and they were, they are dumb enough to elect a leftist, black woman twice.
I would not underestimate her, but I’ve read stories about how very thin skinned and whiny she can be and that she is known to put her foot in her mouth and this not really like the jazzman Bill was or the smooth talker like Barack.

Bannon would be wise to get private dicks on her now. Start digging and expose every dirty little skeleton in her closet. Her relationship with Willie Brown to her lesbian relationships with California lawmakers. Get it all out.

She is not eligible to run for President.
As much as I despised Obama, I will admit that he was well trained to selectively feign emotion the way all politicians have to do. At times he could be charming, seemingly empathetic and knew how to tell a joke.
I don’t sense that at all from Broom Hilda, I mean Kamala Harris. She wears her Frown Mask 90% of the time.
Kamala is about as ‘friendly’ as Michelle Obama on a very bad day, and just as magnanimous to those who didn’t vote for her. Kamala always, always seems to be in a defense mode.
To me, that is a limited, very brittle facade for a social leader.
Makes me think of that Iraqi who threw a shoe at President Bush (to the delight of our media).
