Forget what they say - House Democrats are readying for impeachment
Washington Post ^ | December 21, 2017 | By Paul Kane

To fill their top spot on the House Judiciary Committee, Democrats had a choice between experts in two critical policy arenas: a constitutional law ace with firsthand experience battling President Trump, and an architect of sweeping immigration legislation.

By a wide margin, they chose the constitutional law expert. Why? To ready themselves for a battle with Trump that could end with impeachment proceedings.

The selection of Rep. Jerrold Nadler (D-N.Y.) as the ranking member on Judiciary was the clearest sign yet of how seriously House Democrats consider the possibility of a full-blown constitutional showdown with Trump.

Democrats are careful to say that Nadler will not push too far or too fast on any impeachment proceedings. “He doesn’t rush to judgment about anything, very deliberative,” said Rep. Joseph Crowley (D-N.Y.), a friend of more than 25 years.

Such cautious statements aside, it’s hard not to conclude that Nadler was given his new job for a singular reason.

“It’s something I think he was made for,” Crowley said. “He’s at the right place at the right time and when we need him most.”

there are 300,000,000 reasons to consider why the decision is a bad one.

a constitutional law ace

Hmmmm. Let's see, people I recall who taught Constitutional law. Alan Dershowitz. Nope, Nadler not in that league. Bill Clinton, well, Nadler is Jobba the Hut next to Bubba. Barak Hussein 0bama? Not even sure we can prove he taught constitutional law, but Nadler's got to be at least as good, right?

And what exactly would the RATs impeach him for?

What high crime has Trump committed?

They can know it without having anything to do with it or wanting to have anything to do with it.

Isn’t the abject, mindless animus directed toward Trump an instant disqualifier as impartial arbitrators for this process?

In other words, if they can’t find anything impeachable, they will INVENT something.

The only number that matters is 25.

That’s the number of GOP Members Ryan (Romney) needs to impeach Trump.

The threat of impeachment does not come from the Democrats.

Don’t be so sure that they won’t have majorities some time during the Trump’s two terms.

Progressives on Twitter this morning have been pushing this notion harder than usual.

Progressives appear to have gotten new orders to start posting economic FUD about a “new bubble about to burst” & “if too many people start buying houses again..” on Twitter this morning.

I predict many Soros-funded protests calling for President Trump’s impeachment will start up in the coming spring.

Everything was rigged and the road paved in gold for Hillary’s coronation with everything planned by the elites down to a tee.The fact the Trump persuaded the American people to vote stupidly and seize the reins of government from America’s rightful rulers is a crime of monumental proportions and must be punished not only to kill the insurrection against America’s rightful rulers but also to teach an object lesson to the unwashed masses that government is best left to those who are equipped to run it. By hook or by crook Trump needs to go and be destroyed before the rubes get anymore bright ideas! This is what it’s all about!

Sounds great to me. They are wasting resources on a nothingburger instead of making a bad idea - immigration reform - even worse with the aid of willing RINOs.

Rep Nadler looks like he has been embalmed..?
He looks like he could use a walk.
In fact, if I ran into him ..that is what I would tell him to do.
Take a walk.

I lived in his district when he was just getting started. The disgusting slob used to position himself at the top of the steps of the downtown #1 train on 110th St at morning rush hour and try to make people shake his hand, since he was so fat he blocked the steps and you couldn’t get by him unless he turned to shake somebody’s hand.

Well, then. The stupid motherf*uckers need to stop flapping their gums and bring it the f*ck on. Frankly, I am more than ready to have a good old fashioned asskicking contest with these whiney losers. It is past due time to start taking names and kicking ass.

If by chance this is read and understood by one of these cupcakes, yeah, I am referring to you.

They have two angles Mueller appears to be working:

1. Contradicting Obama (official US) policy at the time, such as undermining Russian sanctions while Obama was still President.

2. Obstruction of Justice, by meeting then firing Comey while trying to get Flynn off from being charged for #1 above.

Since no one has has ever been prosecuted for #1 before, it’s obviosly all a a stretch, but since it’s all they seem to have they’re willing to roll with it. They think they’ll have control of Congress by then so it will sail through.

I have no doubt it is true. If the Dems get the majority in the House, they will launch impeachment hearings. It is a given. They will not use it in the 2018 midterms to make it a referendum on impeachment, but it will be the driving force for their voters. There is no way Trump will be convicted in the Senate, but this is all about 2020.

Full blown? You mean Nadler's gonna do a lewsinsky on all the Dims?

It can’t sail through the Senate where it takes two-thirds to convict.
