House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Ed Royce will not run for reelection, he announced Monday.

Royce, a Republican from Fullerton who was first elected to Congress in 1992, is chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee and is known as a hawk and a free trade advocate.

He is the first California Republican to announce a retirement in what’s expected to be a tough year for the GOP at the ballot box.

“In this final year of my Foreign Affairs Committee chairmanship, I want to focus fully on the urgent threats facing our nation, including: the brutal, corrupt and dangerous regimes in Pyongyang and Tehran, Vladimir Putin’s continued efforts to weaponize information to fracture western democracies, and growing terrorist threats in Africa and Central Asia,” Royce said in a statement Monday.

I still think MANY of these early retirement announcements are tied to the sex fund. It’s possible many of these people are being blackmailed.

Remember, there are even after these recent announcements about 100 names not yet revealed from the sex-fund payouts. So far, the Rs have been “resigning” at a faster rate, but half those not yet named are Ds.

Their wave is coming.

Reverse of 2010 midterm. Democrats will turn out in droves, if only as an anti-Trump vote. Trump realizes it, so he’s going to get as much of his agenda through as he can before November.

Doubt it. Seriously doubt it.

They haven’t been “turning out in droves” yet, not even in AL, where they only exceeded previous turnout a little.

They aren’t “turning out in droves” to register. In AZ, Rs have registered a net 15,000 MORE since last November. In almost every other battleground state, the registration changes are heavily in favor of Rs.

Good candidates will get Rs out.

Wow. Good thing that he handed his toupee to Gonzales, who is playing it straight instead of beclowning himself.

Poll out showing Kim leading 2 rats.

CA CD-39 (Remington): Ex-Assemblywoman Young Kim (R) 41%, retired Navy officers/lottery winner Gil Cisneros (D) 38% ... Kim 42%, pediatrician Mai-Khanh Tran (D) 33%

She’s pretty good looking too.
