I may be jaded by what I’ve seen in near 69years, but most people cheat in one way or other. Worked for a short time with an electrician whose father was a big electrical contractor. Met the father at a party. Said “how ya doin”. He answered “everyone I can”. He wasn’t talking about sex. Cynicism? You bet, because that’s the way the world works so one should watch out for the next screwing coming down the pike. THE TRUTH IS OUT THERE.

What is your point regarding adultery being a Jewish and Christian “thing”. Adultery was condemned in various times under Greek/Roman Republics that pre-dated Christianity while making fun of Judea law. Various Roman Emperors before Constantine made adultery a public offense/crime. Persians even had morality clauses.
A good chunk of the planet follows their own morality codes. Some people who brake those codes believe in those codes. For decades people like JFK and BJ Clinton did what they wanted And the media wrote them a pass.
Myself? I follow the codes as it concerns my life. but mind my own business when it concerns others.
