He was arrested alive after the woman shot him in the face with a 12ga. The woman shooter was doing good just to get him shot. She was shot in one arm with a 12ga. If it was a pump, she was doing good just to get a shot off once. She would have had to shoot him one handed. I would imagine she had part of her arm blown off unless it was just a few pellets.
She was shot and she picked up his shot gun and then shot the perp. The perps wife was not shot, I don’t believe.
Yes, he came to "kidnap" her. Her co worker was the one shot and the co worker then picked up his shotgun when he went for a pistol, and she shot him with his own shotgun with one hand.
Maybe they mean the wife got shot, and Wind picked up the shotgun and shot the perp?

Very poorly written article.
The way I read it, a jackass came in and shot his wife. After shooting his wife he dropped his shotgun and went for his pistols.
Colette Wind picks up the shotgun and shoots the jackass.
My kids did better writing in 3rd grade.
In the article:
“Wind was in another room and intervened. The gunman then shot her, officials said.
“He put the shotgun down, and one of our employees picked it up and, as the gunman went for his other (gun), he had two other pistols. Our employee shot him,” Bergey said.”

So, after being severely wounded she shot him? Wow. That’s awesome.
Yeah, I think we can give her a pass on failing to kill the perp. A 12 gauge buckshot or slug hit will ruin most people’s day but she did well enough to hit and incapacitate him after receiving one.
It’s so poorly written that was an easy mistake to make.
I remember writing an article for the school paper in 4th grade.
Compared to this one, mine was Pulitzer material!
