Amidst all the hoopla over President Trump’s crass comments about which immigrants the United States should let in, The View host Joy Behar ignorantly claimed that Norwegian immigrants wouldn’t want to come to America anyway, because their country is superior to the United States.
Fellow host Whoopi Goldberg blasted Trump for singling out Norwegians as the kind of immigrants America wants, saying that it was a clear affront to “brown people.” She claimed that Norwegian immigrants aren’t coming here for Trump anyway.
“And Sir, just so you know, they don't want you to be their president. They -- they're not coming here for that. That's not why folks from Norway are coming here,” Whoopi ranted.
But Behar gushed that Norway was a socialist utopia, with “free health care” and “free education” so why would anyone from there want to come here?
“They don't have to come here. They have free health care. They have sane gun laws there. They have child care. They have free education. Why would they come here to this country?” host Joy Behar gushed.
“They have socialism,” McCain murmured, but was talked over. Behar then let slip her anti-patriotic beliefs, saying, “People come here because they’re trying to improve their lives. Not make it worse.”

Why would Norwegians want to come here with a per capita GDP of 70,000USD?
To gt away from the muslims. Many do not want to change the law so a vent is needed. There are people of Western Christian descent, so they readily integrate and assimilate.
Then why doesnt Behar leave and improve EVERYONE’S lives, except for where she ends up.
Norway is not Socialist, the Government does not own or control business.
Cool. And that’s what the rest of them should be doing. Improve their lives, improve their countries. We can all live with that. That is compassion.

Methinks many Freepers need to realize that 1) Much of the US is 3rd world economically 2) Many Foreign Countries are richer and provide better opportunity for their middle classes.
Trump is doing a very good job on changing this, but we should recognize the harsh truth. We are no longer the place everyone wants to come to.

I suspect that my four great-grandparents who came over came over in part to get away from the Swedes. I didn’t know any of them, but the Norwegian love for Swedes carried onto the second and some of the third generation, who I did know. I suspect that now they will want to get away from the people Sweden has imported.
But reports have it that that oil is running out.
If that's true the day may come when Norwegians *want* to come here.

Joy’s ego might be big enough to believe that.
All countries are equal, best to warn potential immigrants that America is just as much of a s?!thole as where they are coming from and they are better off staying HOME.

Norway is a socialist country and taxes the hell out of folks to give to the gimme folks.
In fact $70000 is a burger flipper income in Norway. Established professionals are doing much better. On the other hand you don’t want to know how much a burger or a gallon of gas cost in Norway, let alone home prices. Overall most people in Norway would find an idea of moving to US about as ridiculous as Americans would find moving to Mexico.
Norway, Switzerland, Singapore and about a dozen of other nations are certainly ahead of current US in terms of quality of life.
Arguably, but some poorer countries like Finland might be ahead on some terms too.

The countries you named are pissants in terms of countries. They have homogeneous societies. No diversity there in any of them, and yeah I know they speak French, German or Italian depending on which of their neighboring countries is closest. Plus Singapore is a benevolent dictatorship. Nothing there is democratic, but it works because it’s leadership isn’t Communist.
