I thought about this a bit, and have to agree. This is not the time to make a 1 man hoopla about spending. However, I would agree to it IF Rand Paul’s immigration stance is tougher than Trump’s: Then Pres. Trump can send him in for the next negotiation session. :-)

Paul is 100% right on this and his vote didn’t swing anything.

Too funny! Lee was also considered a conservative icon until he proved he wasn’t - now they both stand strong with Linda Graham and Jeff the Flake....

Paul took the opportunity of certain loss anyway to vote against the measure to gain the spotlight and make his fiscal points.

Good job

The senate is divided and with McCain and one other gone, nothing can pass

McCain should die for his country. Being shot down and captured is detrimantal

All BS by Rand. He voted nay with Flake, Graham and Lee. All traitors.

You don’t make points by vote-mongering a short term CR. You save that for a full extension or budget if one ever happens (not likely).

This is his typical grandstanding, he should be so lucky as go comatose as McCain. It would of great service to the Republic.

rand paul is one of the few true conservatives in a sea of RINOs

At the very least, he's the only guy in Washington D.C. who appears to have read the Constitution.

Drew,

so true - Rand Paul believes in making the tough decisions to limit Gov‘t and respect equality of law. He is a real patriot

This vote? His “conservative” label got stripped, now he is a RINO like Graham.

Rand Paul is what a fiscal conservative looks like - and it’s easy to mistake him against the backdrop of unrestricted Neocon profligacy that passes for mainstream Republican thought, these days.

exactly - Rand Paul votes against a deficit busting budget and the RINOs go hysterical.

It’s not about Trump. I don’t agree with Trump 100 percent — or anyone else. It’s about principles and policies.

Exactly. The moonbeams here are dinging off the bells flapping around in a blind rage that Rand sticks to his Conservative guns.

you can always pay his neighbor to whack him.

Tell me where or when you think Trump will draw the line on the deficit. He makes some cost savings decisions hit overall the deficit is on the rise. The incessant defect run ups, extensions are just a ruse.

Rand Paul is not a never Trumpet. Of course he voted against the spending bill. He votes against these spending bills all the time.

Just this past week Rand Paul stood up for Trump by saying Trump was not a racist and had helped fund one of his trips to Haiti to do free eye surgery.

This is a 30 day continuing resolution.

Just how much did Rand save us here?

Zip-da-de-du-dah...

Yes, for a period of time until those tax cuts spur the economy and tax receipts explode, we’re going to have to continue on with deficit spending.

Trump has already been working on savings.

We’re getting a $38 billion dollar tax payment from Apple, just one company.

When others kick in for repatriating money, we may see half to one trillion in increased tax receipts.

Rand means well, I think, but he’s nothing but a butt-head here.

Trump is President Rand. How about letting him lead.
