Raj Shah: This is fundamentally a legislative document and a legislative process. They voted this out of committee. We as a White House will consider anything the House Intelligence Committee were to vote out and work it through the same process
We believe again the public has a right to know. Again this is a legislative document. We will give it back to the legislature and they would make a call on how to release it.
Outside of Philadelphia and Boston, the only thing that will interest people about the Super Bowl are the parties on Sunday and the 4 hours of the game. And drinking.
It doesn’t matter when they release it...no more than it matters when a CAT 5 Hurricane or 9.0 Earthquake hits. This will never be buried by anything.
I wonder if President Trump will be interviewed as part of the regular Superbowl activities that include a Presidential interview aired as part of the broadcast.
Good quote. Thanks for sharing.
Thursday would have been better than Friday. Why give your opponents one more day to rearm?
But I think we can agree to disagree.
No one listens to talking heads anyway. TV news coverage doesn’t make a damn bit of difference. 75% of the people liked the State of Union address. And 95% of the coverage of the SOU was extremely negative. Did that make any difference?
This will stand on its own, up or down with the people, the news coverage and talk radio is meaningless in this. Everyone knows about it and will know about. The Democrats themselves are making damned sure by their crazy antics that everyone will know. This news cycle stuff is mid-20th century thinking. There stopped being news cycles when news went 24/7/365 and the Internet appeared. News is all day every day now.
Why would they turn this into a Friday document dump on Super Bowl weekend? Today the entire nation is ginned up into a fever pitch to see the memo. If the president, KellyAnn, et al are foolish enough to commit this unforced error I’ll be surprised.
Are they waiting for the memo release, then pounce with the next round of prevarication?
No idea. Just reporting what was told to me.
Thune is beginning to come across as the Senator played by Ned Beatty in the Movie “Shooter”.
Any change will have to be approved by the committee monday when they get back.
The White House has no ability to change one word of a legislatively approved report. Zero. White house can release or not release only. Other wose the white house could have just written the report. This is constitution 101.
Ha, ha, ha! Very likely!
It will be released tomorrow. Count on it.
The Daily Callers Chuck Ross tweeted Thursday that a House Intelligence Committee Republican told him the edits were made prior to the vote. This new information contradicts Schiffs claim about the memo being altered after it was released. It also raises questions if Schiff even read the reported edits made prior to voting on its release.
A House Intel Committee Republican source is telling me that edits to the FISA memo were made *before* the committee voted to release. Suggests maybe Democrats didn’t see the changes, which source says were “minor” edits.

If the changes were made Tuesday-— This Tuesday—by White house Chief of staff in a meeting with FIB representatives— that is impossible!! time capsule?
It is a regular weekend for me. I am planning to watch reruns from the weather channel show “ highways from Hell” but nothing will be released. The White House seeks changes and it must go back for a vote. The committee meets Monday but God works in wonderful ways— by waiting until Monday we get MUCH BETTER press focus!!! YESSSSS!!
You need to get out more. Try this thought experiment: there's no memo.
A very plausible strategy for delaying the release, probably until Monday, is that some goofball like Rosenstein or Wray threatened to quit without redactions. So they do redactions, then release. No quitting, no "forced out" news story, just the nemo.
Now the question is whether having names redacted makes any difference. It does not. The wrongdoing is wrongdoing whether the names are there or not. The next step is investigation and prosecution and that can't really be based on a memo. That has to be done from the classified sources.
