I believe you are wrong. If that were the case, they would be counter acting the memo in stories. That is why they are freaking. They know its bad but have no lead to help their team.

It’s obvious to the trained old eye. The media and the Dems have begun circulating the idea that if Rosenstein goes then we have a constitutional crisis and perhaps an end to the world. They know what is in the memo and the Dems know that Rosenstein is corrupt - so they will use his firing to ....you guessed it, go after Trump.

Suppose Trump is using this political theater and memo gate as a distraction. This thread from newsmax was actually reported in the WaPo. The dems and media are playing the gambit you suggest but Trump is playing a different game. Suppose while they obsess about a toothless memo and symbolic firing, DOJ is actually preparing to arrest the principals in this coup including Rosenstein, McCabe, Strzock, Page, et al for falsifying evidence to a FISA court and further crimes. The dems would have no teeth to stop this and the media would be forced to chase the story. As they rush to do that, further indictments will be prepared and served on Comey, and Hillary and possibly Lynch. Consider the delicious possibilities

Speculation on the memo most certainly indicates the truth about the Russian investigation. Mueller can’t indict anyone about it as he’s hip deep in U-1.

That's exactly what they are doing now. Trying to discredit Nunes, discredit the memo as a fabrication, calling it partisan, calling it an attack on the precious FBI, doing everything they can to stop it. The more they delay it's release, the more people are interested in it, and will pay attention when it does come out. It reminds me of the flurry of court filings the lawyers do just before an execution, trying to delay the inevitable......They are screwing themselves...........................

Rosenstein should have been fired a year ago. Period. Sessions is to blame. It will take a mountain of cause for Trump to do it even then hell will rain down on him.
Which is why nothing will happen. These leaks are beltway theater. In the short term it may be better for POTUS to let sleeping FBI dogs lie and hammer the Dems on economy, DACA and tax cuts.

I don’t see that happening since doing so may suggest that Trump “wants the “dog” (Mueller) out of the chase”. Meaning Mueller might be getting too close to something/anything that suggests wrong doing by Trump.
