Day Trump Releases the Nunes Memo A Federal Judge Keeps The Comey Memos Secret
Daily Caller ^ | 2/2/2018 | Richard Pollock

On the same day the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence released the Nunes memo showing the FBI relied on the salacious and unverified Trump dossier to obtain a surveillance warrant on Carter Page, a federal judge ruled to withhold the Comey memos. The memos, authored by former FBI Director James Comey, are about his nine private conversations with President-elect and President Trump.

U.S. District Judge James Boasberg, who ruled in favor of the FBI’s request to keep the Comey memos secret, also sits on the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court. The FISA Court is the same court that approved the surveillance on Trump associates.

This is a poorly written article.

Judges don't just issue rulings out of thin air. They issue rulings in legal proceedings. You have to read almost all the way down to the end of the article to find out who was actually petitioning a court to release them. It turns out it was a group of media outlets that filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request for them, and the judge simply ruled that public disclosure under a FOIA request doesn't outweigh the need for confidentiality in an ongoing investigation at this time.

Erdogan fired 2,745 judges the next day after the coup against him.

No judge appointed by Obama is legitimate.

FOIA and CIPA are routinely used to declassify materials. Keep them classified. Maybe Comey will be indicted for leaking classified material.

This little antic by a member of the FISA Court reminds me of a question that went through my beady little mind: Suppose the FISA Court judge who approved the warrant to spy on Trump WAS NOT FOOLED? Suppose he KNEW their application was phonied up, but for dislike of Trump, signed anyway?!

These memos, as I understand it, are worthless. He wrote them after his meetings with Mr Trump, and are undoubtedly wholly self-serving. Not worth the dynamite to blow them to hell.

No wonder it’s CNN that wants them released.

From British court documents

Paragraph 32

we know Steele briefed 6 American media outlets (NYT, WaPo, Yahoo News, New Yorker, CNN, MotherJones) on the dossier & allegations against then candidate Trump...circular reporting used to lend credibility to dossier.

A little arm twisting of justice Roberts? Cmon man, stand up for yourself and America even if you have to resign your office in disgrace. Do one thing to honor your oath of office, your family, and to thine own self be true, before almighty God.

Looks like they have done quite enough dissembling of their own. It would be better to just disassemble the court.

If he did he broke the law. This info should never have been classified to secret or above. Looks like it was done for political reasons primarily.
