IG can only recommend action. The DAG handles personnel matters and the Criminal Division would make the criminal case.

I'm inclined to give Sessions the benefit of the doubt. You have swamp denizens at DOJ and the FBI scrambling for the desert as fast as they can. What has Sessions had to do with that?

The first real IG report in 9 years is due out in March.

The key to the city will be real indictments.

Sessions may be doing just fine.

If DJT wanted to keep sessions, he wouldn’t have told the NYT he’d have never appointed him if he’d known sessions would recuse himself. Surely you know this! And if sessions can’t figure it out, he’s either blind stupid, swamp, or compromised.

Ryan, McConnell and all of sessions senate buddies have warned DJT not to fire him. They would resist confirming a replacement. As long as they support him, the blowback from his firing would probably derail the MAGA agenda, at the least.

Also if he fired him rosenslime would be AG.

If sessions had the slightest integrity or honor he would resign, instead of hanging on to the job he always wanted.

Q? -> N

o A Sessions replacement needs approval from the criminal inmates he would prosecute. I prefer this path. Trump would keep appointing non establishment, unapproved acting AGs.
o Sessions is good on illegal immigration.
o Sessions is bad on illegal, witch hunts with no basis in law, eg Mueller.

To “save the republic”? Hilarious stuff. Sessions is a better man than any of his ridiculous critics, who basically know nothing of which they speak.

It is a very precarious political thing to do and the public must be eased into it carefully.

I've been closely observing All things Clinton x 25 years so I'm well past being carefully eased into their criminality. As far as the general public, if they aren't up to speed with what's happening in our government, they never will get there. Sessions needs to drop the hammer now or be fired.

Things keep happening that are added to his list of things to investigate. Like the Dems demanding he also investigate Comeys handling of Hillarys/Humas email issues, who Hillary blamed for her loss

Saw somewhere that they have gone through over 1.5 million pages of documents. And that was a few months ago.

I still can't comprehend Sessions' mindset after it was revealed he has not "reported" meeting with the Russian Ambassador Kislev -- and it was ALSO revealed that Sen. McCaskill had met with Kislev at the same time as Sessions.

Eric Holder would have pointed to McCaskill, laughed it all off, and moved on with his life. Sessions RECUSED HIMSELF from the entire "Muh Russia" matter. WHY?

There are those who would demand that the DOJ provide hourly pressers updating us on their every move.

Then there are those with common sense who want the DOJ to conduct criminal investigations methodically and meticulously, leaving no holes in their cases.

I'm thinking in March, Trump will replace Rosenstein, and leave Sessions in place. The new guy will do the prosecutions of all matters connected to Hillary.

Can Trump put in an acting AG to replace Sessions, or will we have to wait for confirmation of AG. I don’t want to see Rosenstein take over as acting AG.

Can Trump appoint Brand’s (3rd in line AG) replacement or does Sessions or Rosenstein get to do it?

If Sessions goes, we might as well have a total purge.

This whole think sounds like a succession crisis from the Middle Ages. The left is going to call Trump Richard II.

I can not believe anyone who has been following these events could write such an uninformed article.

The Russian collusion plan has run out of gas.

It is common knowledge that Mueller is trying his best to come up with something that would lead to impeachment. It is also common knowledge that the libs and rinos are claiming that Trump has committed, is committing or plans to commit obstruction of justice. These same rats also insist that obstruction of justice will be an impeachable offense.

So here is a guy urging the President to fire Sessions. Either dumb or a secret never Trumper.

Why should Trump fire Sessions for not firing everyone in the DOJ when in fact every week one or more of the swamp critters are quitting on their own?

And I can tell you from my dealings with large companies that there are a lot more ways to get rid of someone besides shouting at the top of your voice “YOU ARE FIRED”.

Because large corporations have the same problem, that is there is always someone ready to pounce on them for committing a violation of a labor law, discrimination law, libel or slander, corporations have devised ways of getting people out without even using the words “you are fired”.

But the bottom line is the rats are deserting the sinking ship. Why stir up a hornets nest unnecessarily? To do so would not be smart.

I would also remind all that Sessions knows things and has people working on things of which we have no idea. The rumors about Bill Priestap should make people realize that there is a lot going on that will eventually become public.

And he has to get the right people installed in these vacant positions.

Citing Q as authority for keeping Sessions isn’t persuading some of us. It’s like citing Glenn Beck. Only less credible.

You should be.

These idiots have no idea what it takes to carry out major investigations and collect evidence which will lead to a conviction. Can you imagine getting a conviction in the DC District? Or even a grand jury indictment?

The worst case scenario is a trial which produces a Not Guilty verdict prior to the Mid-terms. This would set the Goebbelsmedia off screeching about the “political persecution of innocent Democrats” and cost the GOP.

On the other hand it takes no brains to understand the optimal time for indictments and trials is Spring and Summer so the trials are ongoing at the time of the vote. Make the Democrats defend or explain those on trial.
