I honestly believe that, on some level, the American political left loves mass shootings. It provides a veritable smorgasbord of opportunities for them to trot out their favorite tropes, especially gun control. They can push their agenda, even when they lack any real punch, in part because they’re enabled by a complicit media.
However, they invariably say some incredibly stupid things during the aftermath. Kind of like this guy:

In the realistic, non-emotional cold hard with no moral preening analysis of mass shootings… the biggest tragedy is always when there’s no one to shoot back.
Hard cases make bad law and the left thrives on hard cases because they thrive on manipulating emotions that arise from them.
Thinking that doesn’t arise from feels does them no good.

Given that the shooter - like most mass murderers - was known to the FBI and other political left organizations.
And given that they - once again - did nothing to stop this; one can see how the above comment might actually be true.
It seems obvious to anyone with half a brain that the FBI could care less about mass shootings as they instead focus more on a political coup against Donald Trump.
These people don’t really want to DO anything. There was much wailing and gnashing of teeth after Sandy Hook. Aside from Sandy Hook itself, my question to all the parents who claimed that such a massacre really affected their worldview was: what are you going to do about it? Knowing what you now know, are you going to just send your kid back into the same situation you sent him yesterday? Will you consider home schooling? Or is that inconvenient to your lifestyle? Are you going to follow up with any changes to your school’s preparedness? Going to hold your local school administration accountable for anything? Anything? Or just wait for the news cycle to change and hope it doesn’t happen to you? According to their actions, I think that sometimes they’d rather be victims.

Let’s see. The government had all the info needed to stop the Florida shooter and failed to act. What a surprise.
Democratic Politicians have stated their appreciation for these events, loss of lives be damned.

Because leftism is cynicism about society, and concomitant naiveté about government.Berzerkers with guns are a parody of society as “conservatives” recognize it.
