Russian Nationals Charged With Conspiracy Against US

Special counsel Robert Mueller has charged 13 Russian nationals for conspiring against the U.S. They are accused of interfering with our elections.

BREAKING: A federal grand jury has indicted 13 Russian nationals “accused of violating US criminal laws in order to interfere with US elections and political processes.” Here it is: https://t.co/4T824L01yk pic.twitter.com/k9nyOicheb— Matt Viser (@mviser) February 16, 2018

"The nationals had a strategic goal to sow discord in the U.S. political system, including the 2016 U.S. presidential election," the 37-page document reads.

The nationals spent about $1.2 mil for its interference operation, the document continues, reportedly to "support" the Trump campaign and "disparage" the Hillary Clinton campaign.

Some of the defendants spoke with “unwitting” Trump campaign aides.

Despite President Trump dismissing talks of Russian collusion as a "hoax," CNN's chief national security correspondent Jim Sciutto said "there has to be read hard proof" in order to pursue indictments like these.

"Do you believe it now?" Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) asked Trump following the news.

Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein officially announced the indictment from the DOJ headquarters Friday.

The 13 defendants, he explained, worked with false identification and posed as politically active Americans advocating for and against specific candidates. They purchased political advertisements on social media, staged political rallies, organized protests both for and against president-elect Donald Trump, and pretended to be grassroots activists, while recruiting Americans.

“These Americans did not know they were communicating with Russians,” Rosenstein said.

No allegation suggests that the nationals altered the outcome of the election.

"They want to undermine public confidence in democracy," Rosenstein explained. "We must not allow them to succeed."

Given the buzzfeed article on the Russian agency back in 2014, and the New Yorker article in 2015, it is hard to believe that they were not on the watchlist prior to the 2016 election. I mean this was a well know, well funded, Russian disinformation company operating in Florida and covered by the press as early as 2014. Thoughts?

The President better advise all Americans currently in Russia to return home immediately in order to prevent being charged and held for political reasons due to Democrat party driven prosecutions in our country.

How many Mexican nationals have been charged for actually casting a vote in the 2016 election?

Clearly, we need a govt agency to help with media matters, to keep it all honest. I suggest this govt news org to bear the name “The Truth”.

It does beg the question of why they needed a special court to order the surveillance when they could have gotten the same result to date by simply reading the buzzfead article from 2014?

There is a game, a charade being played by both sides. Soon, the game is going to end, and I’m hoping very badly for Obama/HRC and their minions.

Mueller just tossed out the most expensive nothing burger of all time. On purpose?

Some of the early articles about their operation (2014, 2015, and 2016) paint their intent as trying to create distrust of internet news (i.e., only mainstream media is reliable). But they must/should have been on watchlist since then. That is why I do not understand why the indictment has anything to do with the secret court ordered surveillance. There is more to story indeed.

I may have just changed my mind on Mueller, for he has given me a precious thing. Tomorrow (weather permitting) I'm going to meet some liberal friends for lunch. It's going to be soooo much fun.

"13 Internet trolls? That's what you got? 13 Russian bloggers? 13 Facebook kiddies? Holy crap, you think we should wait for a declaration of war or just start the bombers now?" Oh, yesss...

Well, by those standards, where are the criminal indictments for the Democrat Party, the Clinton campaign and the mainstream media?

Mueller charged 13 Russians with running a massive social media trolling campaign
and field operations in the U.S. aimed at 2016 candidate Hillary Clinton.
A must avenue to explore.......

<><> how did the 13 Ruskis get into the US?

<><>under whose auspices?

<><>under Obama’s sap-happy refugee-loving immigration policies?

<><> does ICE have any records?

<><> were any of the tax-funded refugee resettlement programs involved?
