My comment from another thread.
Cops in every school???? How did that work just last week?
NO, NO, NO!
The answer to armed guards in schools is armed TEACHERS!
Vetted, trained, volunteers with stipends, insurance, legal representation.
A concealed weapon RIGHT THERE in the CLASSROOM! Hallway, Gym.
No uniforms to give the identity of the guards identity away.
Not ONE guard for an entire school, but multiple undercover guards (teachers) all over the school.
Who wants to protect the kids more than teachers?
I couldn’t imagine your daughter jumping out a window and leaving her students like that.
Here in NJ they’re certainly paid enough; there would be no shortage of takers for the jobs. One additional bonus to that scenario would be one that isn’t brought up, but should be after Beslan (the school massacre in Russia): Protection against terrorists, since schools are comparatively soft targets.
Because here in NJ plenty make around $100K for working 180 part-time days; they can spend an extra day in firearms qualifying...
If the arming is voluntary, self-selection will lead most of those who should be armed to do so, and most of those who should not to remain unarmed.
I was happy to hear a survivor on the radio this morning saying the deputy had taken an oath and broken it. He’ll retire into the sunset, but I hope he never has a peaceful night’s sleep for the rest of his days. Here in NJ many cops pull in over $100K annually, and they justify it by pointing out the dangers they face on the job (even when the nearest “danger” is several towns away). THEN FACE THE DANGER; that cop should be in prison.
She wouldnt even leave a dog behind. The student/ teacher/ parent relationships are very important. My daughter has 100% parental participation in her class which is unheard of.
That’s great!
