Way too many coincidences and completely weird behaviors out of key players for it to be otherwise.

In a normal world, yeah. But what we are seeing here is insideous PC corrupting at all levels. There is no aspect or facet of this incident that ISN’T PC.

The sentences describing the statement of the school protection officer recognizing the killer on arrival means that Broward County is a bankruptcy still walking around. Ditto every member f the school board and county government.

Every student, brother, sister, parent and grandparent has grounds for a lawsuit. It will be the asbestos and tobacco lawsuits concentrated.

And to think Joliet Jake Blues' record was extensive, but this is no laughing matter. The Sheriff's department, children's services and the school knew damn well this POS was trouble and NOBODY even considered Baker Acting this punk? As Al Pacino in And Justice for All said SOMETHING REALLY WRONG IS GOING ON HERE!!

All schools should have a button to lock all entrances. Code Red and all doors lock.
time is of the essence.

“if the deputy had reason to know that Cruz was likely to be armed and dangerous, proper police procedure most likely would have been to await backup before confronting the suspect.”

Cowardly cops do that. Cops who actually intend to protect and server draw their weapon and confront the dangerous suspect.

Major lawsuits should be filed soon.

Then there is this:

http://time.com/5174483/florida-high-school-explosion/

14 yr. old kid...

From the few reports I read (3), the size of the “bomb” is unclear: M-80? More? But it did apparently start some sort of fire, put out by sprinklers:

I’d guess “prank”, pending further info., but, still...

@browardsheriff should be charged as an accessory to murder.

The ‘monitor” person is a deputy & lives ON THE CAMPUS.

He certainly could have seen Cruz ‘arrive at the school’.

I agree entirely. To me, those who guard schools should be like the secret service - ready to take a bullet for those they are protecting. We provide this for scummy politicians. Are we not going to provide this for our children?

Did you read the report?

The officer watched a person known to have made threats carrying a backpack into the school middle of day. Does nothing. Gunshots. Does nothing. Other officers arrive. Do nothing. Sheriff is a big leftie and anti-gun, and the students emerge from the event with what appear to be scripted anti-gun gun talking points. Not saying there isn’t a simple explanation. But after Newtown, where there appeared to be at least 1 crisis actor involved (I would argue, at least 2), and the medical examiner is laughing in his news conference after going in the building, all bets are off for me.

Not only that, but they then seed cyberspace with people to put forth theories of “crisis actors” and actual hands on involvement in the event which subsequently muddies the water horribly in the ensuing debate/discussion.

Look to 9-11 as the classic case. Alphabet agencies had loads of heads up that something was going down and did nothing, and the ensuing noise from all the “truther” bullshit completely drowned that out to a footnote.

It does appear that this event is so glaringly obvious that the media and brat pack anti gun yapping isn’t going to gain their expected traction.

“your deputy recognized him as a former troubled student, your deputy DID NOTHING”

The ‘witness’ was id’ed as a ‘campus monitor’. How do you get to him being a deputy?

“He could have confronted him there before he had a chance to get the gun out of the bag with little danger to himself. It was what he was there to do.”

He was a campus ‘monitor’.

“Apparently Peterson saw Cruz getting dropped off, “

Campus monitor, not the deputy.

“First I’ve heard about someone who “is employed as a campus monitor”. I wonder if that’s the cowardly deputy. “

If it was the deputy, the police report would have referred to him as a ‘school resource officer’.

“He did “encounter” him. And in time to stop him. He just didn’t.

Make of that what you will. “

I make it that you are going on an incorrect basis.

“And the monitor saw Cruz arrive in a goldish vehicle. But an Uber driver said she drove him to the school. Which was it?”

Both!
