The US threatened unilateral action against Iran after Russia vetoed a UN Security Council resolution on Tehran’s failure to stop its weapons from reaching Houthi rebels in Yemen.
"If Russia is going to continue to cover for Iran then the US and our partners need to take action on our own,” said US ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley on Monday.
“If we’re not going to get action on the council then we have to take our actions.”
Ms Haley did not specify what kind of action could be taken.
Russia on Monday vetoed the resolution that would have expressed concern over Iran’s failure to block supplies of missile to the Houthis and called for “additional measures”.
It marks the second time in recent days that the Russian ambassador has used his position to shield a regional ally in the Middle East.

She showed during the frenzy to remove Confederate flags and statues that she has no understanding of US culture, historical underpinnings or national pride. Without her the history-destroying maniacs might have been held at bay. Perhaps President Trump thought she'd be harmless at the UN? Whatever happened, he certainly has not followed through on his campaign promises to disentangle from other country's affairs. He really bought into it in Syria, Iran, Afghanistan, and Kiev, among other situations.
I can't decide if Haley is stupid, poorly educated in US history and cultural underpinnings, or evil. I'd worry about getting in a war with Iran. They have too many potential allies who know how to fight back. And PS: Has an Iranian EVER committed a terrorist attack on US soil?

If the Trump administration wants to stop the Houthi rebels in Yemen, he should just send the Broward County sheriff’s department over there to fight for them.
My sense is that President Trump will be able to get to the point, very soon, where “everyone is saying ‘peace and security’, and then sudden destruction will come upon them.”
I’m afraid he’s falling for that lie. I think he’s unaware of the consequences. I certainly hope it doesn’t happen under his watch. It IS going to happen, of course.
Still, I believe the Man of Sin arises from Europe to confirm the “peace” covenant. So it may be quite completely out of the hands of the USA to make it happen.
Here's an idea...tell the Saudis to stop killing civilians in Yemen, or better yet put an end their stupid of war of conquest there.

I’m pretty sure Trump made a defense alliance with SA, US and Israel. We sold SA a bunch of weapons. Israel is our ally and needs more allies.
