OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) —
A top immigration official said Wednesday that about 800 people living illegally in Northern California were able to avoid arrest because of a weekend warning that Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf put on Twitter.
"What she did is no better than a gang lookout yelling 'police' when a police cruiser comes in the neighborhood, except she did it to a whole community," Thomas Homan, the Immigration and Customs Enforcement acting chief, told "Fox and Friends."
The mayor warned residents over the weekend of large-scale, impending raids by immigration agents in the San Francisco Bay Area, escalating tensions between California officials and the Trump administration.
Homan said the Justice Department is looking into whether Schaaf obstructed justice and said her actions allowed immigrants who have committed crimes to remain in Oakland, making the community less safe.
"I just can't believe it happened," he said.
Federal immigration agents arrested more than 150 people in California in the days after Schaaf's warning of the raids, the agency announced Tuesday.

She should be tried in the Federal Courthouse in Shreveport, LA. Or Jackson, MS. Or Oklahoma City.

No Democrat can be trusted with any sort of authority. They are simply unable to cope.
Not worry Jeff Sessions is looking into it. Our Super Cop and mild mannered Attorney General. She is going pay big time. After Oakland has a parade for her.
One would think that she obstructed a federal investigation at the minimum and aided and abetted possible felons. She should be charged in federal court, even if in Cal.
If you flash your headlights to warn other motorists of a speed trap, you could be ticketed or arrested for interfering with the duties of law enforcement, but if you give a big heads-up to 800 felons, and are a democrat, it’s all good.
Wait a month and hit them again — without warning the local authorities until the last second.
So go back next week - but don't tell anybody.
I wonder if ICE could even do that without having some bleeding heart on the inside rat them out.
Surely notifying local authorities is a courtesy - one they have shown to not be worthy of.

Maybe the info she “shared” was classified for National Security. Releasing it to the criminal subjects would then be a felony. Boom.
ICE just needs to start workplace enforcement and drop the federal hammer on employers employing illegals in sanctuary cities. This stuff is all the books already. Sleepy Sessions could do it immediately if he chose.
This Sanctuary crap would end pronto if the DOJ enforces the law and prosecutes these Mayors, Governors or State Ag’s. Even if some goofy Federal Judge sympathizes with them, do what they have been doing to conservatives by making them spend huge amounts for legal fees.
Obstruction of Justice. Why hasn’t Sessions acted in this? What a terrible disappointment he has become.
ICE should announce raids constantly, like on a bi-weekly basis. Some actual, some not. This would drive this woman nuts.
So go back next week - but don’t tell anybody.
