The current inventory of 727 Apaches is a joke compared to 320 million people.

Especially considering roughly 1/2 of them are down for maintenance and parts.

Lennox is right. It is too easy to imagine a sheriff’s department clashing with ICE, who would call in feds, followed by the ordering of the state national guard to back the sheriff, and the deploying US military in response. It’s a civil war scenario we are approaching.

Re post 33.

I think you are right.

Add in the lawlessness of public officials in Oakland, Chicago, Austin, New York and other cities and states. They are obstructing federal officials who are trying to administer immigration law. In the 1850's northern republicans thought it was virtuous to aid and abet fugitive slaves. In the 21st century democrats signal their virtue by aiding and abetting illegal aliens.

I don't think either side is willing to back down. If the feds start to prosecute these officials the democrats will rally their constituents (college kids and profs, antifa, illegal aliens, disaffected blacks and other assorted malcontents) to violently oppose said prosecutions. Then what? Which side will the politicized police forces of Broward County, Oakland, and Chicago support?

And what about the street gangs? The Chicago gangs are already part of the political power structure. MS-13 is an avoved enemy of the federal government. They have an organizational structure, they are armed and they are dangerous and capable of extreme violence. Whose side do you think the Mexican drug gangs will support?

What about al Qaeda and other foreign operatives? If you were the Chinese, would you support the "resistance"? The Iranians and the North Koreans would be happy to take advantage of any domestic problems the US might experience, just like foreign actors did in the last civil war.

I don't really see a peaceful outcome. This is going to get far worse.

"It runs far deeper than that. "

It really does. Living baby chopshops ran by planned perenthood and others to butcher babies for organs (limbs?) are more repugnant and despicable that everything dreamed of by the NAZIs in WWII. And they can't claim ignorance of what is really going on either. It's way past time for a reckoning.

Well it won’t be a war anything like the War Between The States. Just pockets of chaos and murder. Hey I think it may have already started!

Probably why the FBI and some LE outfits just let murdering bastards rampage before they come in and “investigate.”

When you consider the prospects of a modern civil war the size and capabilities of the standing US army should not be a factor in the OOB. It is tiny and would be meaningless in a general mobilization of millions.

There is nothing crazy about secession. It is a viable way to part ways without a war. I am for it. CA can leave anytime.

I'm making a policy argument, not a Constitutional one. Secession is a stupid idea, regardless of its legality. California would never be able to survive on its own. Part of it would immediately counter-secede (think West Virginia). What remained would be so far Left, it would almost certainly destroy its economy and would be begging for financial assistance from wherever it could get it.

Then as now, the differences between the two sides are seemingly irreconcilable. And ironically enough, the battle lines are the same with Democrats once again taking what amounts to the secessionist position.

In the first civil war Democrats fought to KEEP CHEAP SLAVE LABOR.

Today Democrats fight to keep the CHEAP LABOR OF ILLEGALS.

Democrats fought to keep the plantation system - and it's many perks for 'elites'. Today democrats fight to keep perks for 'elites'...

The bad news for democrats is:

We won the first Civil War - - AND We'll win the second Civil War.

I can see entire states seceding and some other places like NY state being chaotic. Take Miss and Alabama. They are not going to descend into chaos but I can see them leaving the union.

“We’ve been in a cold civil war for over a decade.”

Seeds planted in 1910’s, social Marxists here in 1940’s, schools corrupted in 1950’s, youth corrupted in 1960’s, youth drugged in 1970’s, unAmerican unChristian immoral brainwashing of youth since then, now they’re ready to show show us who’s boss (Hogg).

California is the 6th largest economy is the world and could easily survive on its own. How does tiny Israel survive? How does any small country survive? And CA is huge. You are ignorant, illogical and naive.

And the pilots must sleep, eat, and poop sometime.

The same thing applies to Tanks, APCs, and all other military.

Remember we have a military that is the people. They are not robots. I doubt any but small numbers would obey illegal orders.

If we expelled California from the union we’d just have a longer border with a third world hellhole than we have now...
