“If 15 was the age of consent before, then any kid under that age would be unable to give consent. Now they need to tweak it? Either the age of consent means just that, or its a real red herring out there.”
Well yes and no.
It is France and who really understands the French?
From my limited reading on the subject (I’m not a lawyer, haven’t played one on tv and haven’t stayed at a Holiday Inn Express) before the new law there was wiggle room where a defendant could say “she didn’t say no.”
There were also questions about constraint and force.
A man had to forcefully restrain or physically force sex on a minor for it to be considered rape instead of the lesser sex with a minor.
The new law took that away and says since someone under 15 can’t give consent then the NO is implied from the beginning.

“My gripe with this all along, is that we are lowering the ages of consent, just like the pervs want. Oh were doing it to save the kids.
NOT BUYING IT!
Now 15 year olds can say yes. Just great!”
I’m with you there.
Fifteen year olds are still adjusting to their changed/changing bodies. Hormones are raging, peer pressure is terrible and the MSM is telling them it’s all good.
Fifteen is a TERRIBLE age!
We’ve both been there and done that.
At least at age 18 the hormones are leveling off and the guys and gals have adjusted, somewhat, to their new physical reality.
IMHO the rush to 15 as the age of consent is another barrage against the traditional family structure.
Leftists destroy the family and the proles are much more compliant.
