Feinstein: It’s ‘Too Early’ to Tell Whether Kamala Harris Would Make a Good President
freebeacon ^ | March 8, 2018 | Cameron Cawthorne

Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D., Calif.) said in a recent piece profiling her Democratic colleague Sen. Kamala Harris (Calif.) that it is "too early" to tell whether the potential 2020 candidate would make a good president.

Feinstein's remarks came in a Politico piece published Thursday and titled, "Kamala Harris keeps 'em guessing." The piece reflects on Harris' first year in the Senate and how she has become a rising star in the Democratic party, describing the senator as a "serious-minded lawmaker" and as someone who "bones up on policy and can engage on substance."

While the junior senator from California has been floated as a potential 2020 contender since early 2017, Feinstein said it is "too early" for her to say whether her colleague would be a good president. She called Harris her "good friend" and said she would like to see her stick around the Senate because "there’s a certain degree of staying power" required to succeed there.

The profile piece also highlighted Harris' voting record, including a couple of votes that bucked the party leadership. Harris briefly angered Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D., N.Y.) last month when she undercut other Democrats looking to strike a deal on immigration.

"She did some damage with her colleagues," said one Democratic senator anonymously.

Despite Feinstein's hesitance to say whether her fellow California lawmaker would be a good president, Harris wants to be part of Feinstein's 2018 reelection campaign and has vowed to support her over a progressive primary challenger.

The New York Times published a similar profile piece on Harris last summer that speculated about the senator's future ambitions. Feinstein was asked at the time about Harris' future as a national figure, prompting her to say Harris "just got here." She added that the junior senator was "on the way to becoming" a good friend.

Chester Arthur's father was born in Ireland. His mother was a native of Vermont. He was President from 1881 to 1885, a time during which adherence to original intent of the Constitution was far more prevalent than is currently the case. Then you have the case of Obama, whose reported father was a Kenyan and whose mother was a native of Kansas. Setting aside the issue of whether he was really born in Hawaii, Obama falls in the same category as Arthur. With these precedents, Kamala Harris would not be disqualified on account of where her parents were born.

Then there is the case of Trump, whose mother was born in Scotland and whose father was a native of New York. As with Arthur and Obama, one of his parents was not a natural born citizen of the United States. Irrespective of original intent of the Framers, if there is over a century of precedent of ignoring it, it is unlikely to be recognized by the Federal courts. I am sure the Democrats would have considered this angle of attack against Trump, as they are grasping at any straw, but for the fact that he is in the same category as Obama.

Precedents?

Like not following the supreme law of the land?...What a plus.

They’re asterisks for the history books. The jury is still out if we actually survived O’muslim’s treason regime.

The parents don’t need to be natural born citizens. Just citizens. You’re not very good at this, are you?

Just what America does not need — another inexperienced Democrat hack chosen entirely for their looks.

Koala Harrass has a bad personality, short temper.

Married Willie Brown’s mistress, I don’t think a lot of women would vote for a homewrecker.

Since the accession of Franklin Roosevelt to the Presidency in 1933 and his New Deal program, the original intent of the Framers has been ignored in favor of the “living document” concept, i.e., whatever the three branches of government say it is. If everything from Social Security to the Affordable Care Act is Constitutional, then having Presidents not of natural born parents is as well, like it or not.

Natural born, in the context of the Framers, meant someone born in the United States. On that basis, Arthur, Trump, and (maybe) Obama would qualify. However, legal precedent from case law indicates that both parents have to be American citizens for an individual to be considered natural born. Obama’s reported father was not one, and neither was Arthur's father, at least when he was born, as the family had only recently moved from Canada to Vermont. I am not sure whether Trump's mother had become a citizen at the time of his birth. If she had been naturalized, Trump would qualify as natural born.

The DNC/Soros will run 24/7 ads saying, “Don’t be a racist vote Harris.”

"She did some damage with her colleagues," said one Democratic senator anonymously.

In other words, she needs to learn to tow the party line. Right now she's not doing that so we don't want her to be President. Once she falls in line we'll consider it.

Dead wrong. Like I said, you’re not very good at this.

“Harris was born on October 20, 1964 in Oakland, California to a Tamil Indian mother, Shyamala Gopalan Harris (1938–2009), and a Jamaican father, Donald Harris.”

No, it isn’t too early. She is a degenerate, dishonest, a racist and despises America and Americans. That alone should disqualify this commie loser.

Not eligible for the office.

Since Hillary failed to take the reigns of power, Harris is one of the hopefuls for 2020 to continue the destruction of the US.

The Democrats must destroyed as a political force in 2018 and 2020.

They seek the destruction of America and of you and your families.
