However, when combined with years of Ritalin, no father, no religion, school bullies, and then you throw in Movie and video game violence, you reap what you sow.

I do not play video games much any more. Most of my gaming time was spent with WW2 flight sims or WW2 first person shooters. However, I always felt that Grand Theft Auto was a tasteless idea for a game. The sort of people you describe in your post probably should not be playing the game. Considering that many inner city hood rats basically live Grand Theft Auto, I don't think it can do any good to glamorize that lifestyle with a game (or hip-hop "music").

Video games? We’re still feeling the effects of Elvis’ hips and above the knee beach wear. /s

Hey, govt, I got a starting point for ya: the Welfare State and your war on the nuclear family (aka responsible and self-sufficient people’s don’t need a nanny).

Has anyone ever had to teach their toddlers to hit as opposed to not-hit?

Yes it happens in all the ghetto homes

I posit that like therapy, almost everyone would benefit from owning a mountain bike, and actually using it.

Watch some of the GTA 5 role playing videos on youtube... Its amazing.. there are so many people playing as cops.. They don’t even allow speeding in the game ! Its crazy

Be warned most of those videos have a lot of cussing.. there is an interesting one where two guys just decide to walk through town with assault rifles OPEN CARRY.. just to see how the guys playing as cops react..some interesting stuff.

One funny video has a guy trying to drive a forklift across town and the police are pestering him non stop. Its funny seeing a game based on being lawless for fun so heavily patrolled by police players.

In the Dot Com bust I got laid off and played Grand Theft Auto for 6 months straight.

I learned all about finding a defensive position from which to do your mass killing. A platform above the crowd is best.

I once killed over 200 police officers in a single hour. Looking back, that was not super healthy.

Blaming video games is pathetic

You’ll know where too look now if you are ever in the middle of one of those situations. I think it was super healthy.

Just for funsies, I’ll pick good cover positions while out. Not actually occupy them, but notice them. My brother’s family plays too, after their last trip to Vegas. Convinced him to play with his wife.

Once you start...it becomes second nature. Good game.

Sure, Hollywood is too big and dangerous to confront, so lets go after an industry that is dwarfed by Hollywood, video games. It’s up to parents to read the ratings or go online and do research. Not up to the government to start censoring video game content.

I totally agree. Here’s a clue. Don’t let your kid play Grand Theft auto.

What could push a mentally ill person over the edge is almost random depending on their experiences and associations.

I wonder if this big push by the liberals has anything to do with video games making more money than movies?

Agreed. But there is also a reason that the military uses these games to train Soldiers. There is also a reason the we used training simulators in Law Enforcement. When I was in the Military, we didn’t have the realistic games we have now, so it wasn’t as prevalent then. But there is no doubt, that we have multiple ticking time bombs wandering around.

If your over 30 and play video games

You need a wife or at least a girlfriend

And a mountain bike Nuff sed

I agree about the bike. But entering a relationship just to kill time? I have games for that. Over the course of a day, I can play multiple games all day, I don't have to answer to any of them, and they don't get jealous if I choose to play just one.
