Late 80’s going back to Bremerton, off the coast of Oregon in March, we took a 24 deg roll. No A/C on deck, but some of the yellow gear in the hangar broke free and went flying.
CO came up to the bridge wearing most of his breakfast.
The rougher the wx, the better I slept.
The most terrified I have ever been, was on the birthing ship while the Nimitz was in dry dock. I thought I was going to die when we got hit by a storm with straight line winds exceeding 60MPH. It was a somewhere near a 45 degree roll. I contacted my department head and he just laughed it off..
Really? I did not realize we are not a war there yet. I’m so happy we have people on this site who know these sorts of obscure and vitally important things.
Bwahahahaha
