Well... OK
Lets hope sheldon takes a handful of pills and dies
Well, my first knowledge of this, here on FR, FWIW.
I can ony express my greatest sympathies, and appreciation for his achievments and contributions.
May his soul rest in peace.
At least he was saved from death by global warming.
i hate to think he died an atheist. hope he converted on his deathbed. early on he did some good theoretical work on black holes.
“Can you imagine sitting there being cognizant but can’t say or do a damn thing? “
No I couldn’t, but he could communicate.
You may see him in hell. I expect to be wafted to Paradise on clouds of glory.
he went to Epstein island. serious!
Wonder if his computer voice will be destroyed?
Creepy!
I think he was brilliant enough that God welcomed him
He had some revelation about God in the last several months after his brother had an apparently profound NDE
I predict we'll see about a dozen repeat articles about his death, which should keep our colleague plenty busy.
RIP.
Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools.. Rom 1:22
I saw him once, at Caltech in the back of the room, as I was leaving a lecture on the Manhattan Project by theory group leader Hans Bethe. I suppose he enjoyed the talk. I did.
What are you, some sort of Christian?
There’s already at least one other thread going.
I guess I missed the joke.
It amazes me than anyone who studies the complexities of his discipline can attribute it to chance.
From Wiki:
A physicist is a scientist who has specialized knowledge in the field of physics, which encompasses the interactions of matter and energy at all length and time scales in the physical universe. [1][2] Physicists generally are interested in the root or ultimate causes of phenomena, and usually frame their understanding in mathematical terms. Physicists work across a wide range of research fields, spanning all length scales: from sub-atomic and particle physics, to molecular length scales of chemical and biological interest, to cosmological length scales encompassing the Universe as a whole. The field generally includes two types of physicists: experimental physicists who specialize in the observation of physical phenomena and the analysis of experiments, and theoretical physicists who specialize in mathematical modeling of physical systems to rationalize, explain and predict natural phenomena.[1] Physicists can apply their knowledge towards solving practical problems or developing new technologies (also known as applied physics or engineering physics).[3][4][5]
RIP.
I met Dr. Hawking in the mid ‘80s.
You won’t see mine, I had it nuked...
Through a machine, yes.
