Does anyone believe that phony excuse?
The kid should leave the sign in his car window and see how long before the school has it towed away.
Maybe the kid was removed for incorrect use of a comma. If we want to be taken seriously we have to be better than they are.
cuomo is launching an investigation into schools that ‘didn’t allow their students to go protest’. He called it ‘unconstitutional to deny them that right’. Seems free speech is only a right for the left
I think the misuse of commas is on the author of the article. I only caught a glimpse of the actual sign in the YouTube video but I did not see a single comma on it. It appeared to me to be structured as follows:
GUNS DON’T KILL
PEOPLE
PEOPLE KILL PEPOLE
Same thought here.
“The District has a policy that such items must be submitted to and reviewed by school administration at least 24-hours in advance. “

Slave training.
Principal should be sued then shot.
New Prague used to be a nice farming community. Actual decent people lived there. But it has been taken over by the suburbanites in their tan clone homes. Buncha no good hippies is what is.
Interesting, thanks!
I wonder if every one of the other signs that were carried by students were reviewed 24 hours in advance as well? If not, I would say that they're being very selective about who has to do what when ...
When a murder happens, don’t we put the person on trial?
The principal in the Greenbrier High School (Arkansas) beat 2 students for not participating in the anti-Gun demonstration. Why? Because that school system still allows corporal punishment.

The headline needs to be fixed, for grammar purposes.
The current headline urges people to kill people. Peaople, kill people. Go ahead, do it!
If the headline, as used, was missing the comma, it would read “People Kill People” which I’m sure (based on reading the article) is what the student meant.
The actual sign said, “Guns Don’t Kill People, People Kill People”.
only going grammar police because upon reading the used headline, I said “hell yes, pull that sign! Can’t have kids telling folks to kill folks”.
For want of eliminating a comma, the sign was urging people to kill people. /sarc
Thats Prague with a long A, rhymes with Hague. Not like the place in Bohemia.
1st Amendment bump for later....
High School Incident Response
Yesterday approximately 100 of our high school students participated in a walkout, as did many of their peers across the country. The walkout was conducted peacefully and without conflict. Since then, attention has been focused on a sign that was present during the walkout.
The District has a policy that such items must be submitted to and reviewed by school administration at least 24-hours in advance. In compliance with the Districts policy "... to protect the exercise of students' and employees' free speech rights, [while] taking into consideration the educational objectives and responsibilities of the School District," the sign was moved to non-school grounds. The District has an obligation to enforce this policy without regard to political viewpoint.
No student was disciplined and law enforcement was not involved with any of the students present during the walkout.
New Prague Area Schools fully respects and recognizes that students have free speech rights. Those rights, however, are to be balanced against the Districts responsibility to maintain a school environment focused on education. The Districts administration has an obligation to enforce the policy, which is known as a time, place, and manner restriction. For more information, our policy #505 can be found on our district website at npaschools.org.
So, in summary, the schools believe in free speech, but only if they approve of it, even though they claim to enforce their policy "without regard to political viewpoint" and even when the students walked out of classes. Which indicates that the school must have approved the anti-gun signs the day before the walkout, even though they wouldn't be "approving" a walkout would they, unless of course they approved of its viewpoint.
I would have walked him out, also, for his dismal failure in the use of punctuation marks.
I sacrificed a lot but I was able to send my boys to private school. That is the highest accomplishment of my life.
