It does, indeed. The headline led me to believe that someone was in hot water for exhorting his fellow students to commit homicide.
You did them and society a great favor, and should be very proud of all of your effort. The leftist indoctrination in modern public schools will cause great damage to our nation.
:)
And totally agree with your post...!
I think this walkout was as much of an anti-Trump and anti-Republican event as it was an anti-gun event. We had school shooting as bad or worse when Clinton and Obama were president, yet those shootings didn’t generate 1/100th of the protests as this one did.
Leftist protest, jail and re-education to follow for all who do not toe the party line.
The actual sign was fine. The comma issue is with poster of the video and the title given.

I’d like for the school to prove that they saw and cleared the anti-gun signs 24 hours before the event.
Only politically correct protest is allowed.
This school, and a great many others, are being used to advance the politics of one side of the political divide, the left side.
No democratic system can survive when the organs of government are allowed to place their thumbs on the scales of political debate.
That is what is done in autocratic regimes, and how they maintain their power.
We have the authority to punish this sort of action by withholding federal funds from these politically active schools.
Government agencies *must* be neutral in politics.
But we see them activly taking sides, from the FBI to the CIA to local Democrats in Staten Island, to the Schools.
If this is the case, shouldn’t taxpayers be justified to bring a class action suit against the NEA? And possibly bankrupt the NEA.
The truth hurts.
That makes more sense. That second comma can be used to denounce the signs.
Some private schools, perhaps many, participated in the walk out.
.
Not surprising in todays culture.
As written, ("People, Kill People!") he was inciting people to go kill people.
Of course, his intended meaning was correct: "People Kill!". The inanimate, chosen tool (gun, knife, automobile, bomb, hammer, etc.) is merely wielded according to the will of the person doing the killing.
Without the empowering, purposeful human, the implement can -- and will -- do nothing.

Sadly, I'm convinced that the grammatical distinctions above (much less the critical thinking involved) are beyond the capabilities of the vast majority of graduates of our current public indoctrination system...
My # 56 agrees with -- and expounds upon -- the truth of your comment... '-)
I affirm your sentiments.
However, it was mentioned upthread that the comma was not in the student’s sign, which had no punctuation at all. (I have a son who believes he can avoid punctuation and capitalization errors by not using any, ever.)
The offending comma was placed by the writer or editor at the source.
