Her list is fairly trite and overplayed, representing the last gasp of top 40 radio. There was plenty of great music made in the 90’s but she didn’t name any of it.

For some non-metrosexual music, I recommend Blackberry Smoke - as long as you do not hate southern rock.

The Beatles suck.

I never used to think so, but if you listen to the SiriusXM Beatles Channel for an extended period, once they get away from their established hits like Love Me Do and Day Tripper, it becomes painfully obvious that they were mailing it in the vast majority of the time.

Jim Morrison was so good looking, though. I watched a Dan Rather special with 2 of the surviving Doors members. They said the country went to hell after Nixon was elected and the Kennedy brothers were killed. Their lead singer died because of a drug addiction and women started killing their unborn in record numbers but the problems of society were caused by Nixon.

Classic? If the 1990s music is classic, what is the 1960s?

I think John was the one mailing it in, certainly not Paul.

Achtung Baby (U2) was released in the 1990s, so she missed all the good songs from that album. She also missed “Steam” by Peter Gabriel.

“but if you listen to the SiriusXM Beatles Channel for an extended period, “

Sirius quality sucks. Even Pandora low quality is better.

Again Paging Mr. Leary.....

“Let me tell you something. We need a two and a half hour movie about the Doors? Folks, no we don’t. I can sum it up for you in five seconds, ok. I’m drunk. I’m nobody. I’m drunk. I’m famous. I’m drunk. I’m f....... dead. There’s the whole movie, ok!? ‘Big Fat Dead Guy In a Bath Tub’, there’s your title for you.”

“I still can’t believe that people listened to “Jeremiah was a bullfrog”....”

Hoyt Axton was great.

When I hear that song I'm thinking, "Fourteen in the side pocket."

"Issue 3, The Bald Chick. What's with the hair?"

Maybe the best one-off SNL skit ever done. Certainly in the top 10.

People that hate the Beatles should be sent to Gitmo.

The important years for music, happiness, or better is relative to the individual. I would happily do 1971 over (music and all), but not 80s or 90s. So your choice would not be my choice for best years!

What is that quote from? It’s great! And I love these threads where everyone is naming favorite songs and songs they hate.
