Who is advising Trump? I am fine with the bump stock ban, but when your base is already demoralized by the disastrous omnibus, you don’t do this today. The people most opposed to this are in his base. Also pushing DACA (which many in your base don’t like) today as the reason you aren’t happy with the omnibus is not the right way to go. I think he is trying to get voters from the Hispanic community who support DACA (which isn’t a monolith as there are Hispanics who voted for Trump), but that’s not going to happen. They know the reason the Democrats aren’t voting for DACA is because they want to give amnesty to all 11 million including DACA relatives, so they will still vote Democrat.

This is absurd. Machine guns are precisely defined by law. ATF correctly determined that bump fire stocks do not convert a semi auto into a machine gun. If Trump wants to ban bump fire stocks the proper method is through congress.

I can’t wait to see the excuses offered by the Trump is God crowd.

We can easily guess what kind of states those senators are in. I don't see loose novelty stocks as a Second Amendment issue, but on the other hand, sentences for many of the violations are too harsh because of compromises of the past.

I'm glad that no one has decided to design and use a fidget spinner stock. That would be an even worse idea.
