Levin: ‘It’s Time for the Attorney General to Step Aside’
Breitbart ^ | 9 Apr 2018 | IAN HANCHETT

Posted on 04/09/2018 6:23:56 PM PDT by conservative98

On Monday, talk radio host Mark Levin called for Attorney General Jeff Sessions to step down.

Levin said, “I want to make a point here…and it will destroy a 30-year friendship. It’ll destroy it. … But I really do think it’s time for the attorney general to step aside. It’s time for the attorney general to step aside.”

He added, “[T]he buck stops on the attorney general’s desk, even if he recused himself, as he did, on the Russia matter, this is not the Russia matter. And the entire department’s out of control now.”

Mr Levin, you might be right, but you’re not the first to call for Sessions’ resignation, many with a larger presence than your own, and they have been ignored. The same as you will be.

Besides, we need Rosenstein gone prior to any departure by sessions. At least sessions is anti illegal immigration. Rosenstein is not.

After that, who do you, mr levin, think the senate will allow to be confirmed?

The issue of the moment is that he says Sessions must go, and they were friends for 3 decades, but no longer.

So what? I said the same thing and I don't know either one of them personally. Mark was a #NeverTrumper from the start even after he endorsed Trump, he still pot shotted him every day. I pot shot him too (for different reasons) but I don't count and neither do you.

At least sessions is anti illegal immigration.

If he really was he would be bringing criminal charges against the Sanctuary politicians instead of threatening to withhold federal funds from them. Congress explicitly funded those traitors so criminal charges are all e has left and still he won't do it.

You don’t think Levin is a NeverTrumper?

In spite of your claims, it’s obvious you have never listened to him.

Kind of like Barack Obama going to church every Sunday for 20 years to ‘listen’ to Reverend Wright.

Trump appointed Sessions, to his great regret. Mark did not appoint him, and Mark himself says if Sessions was going to recuse, he should not have taken the job. Neither here nor there. We are where we are, and Sessions must go, is the point.

Interesting. What did Trump say that so swayed you?

I’m still neutral myself.

Call me a liar, eh, you don’t know me from a stranger on the street. You don’t know what a nevertrumper is. Like I said, if you understood the definition instead of flinging around insults, you - who don’t have to approve of Levin, I couldn’t care less about your approval of Levin or not, but you cannot define him as nevertrumper once you understand the definition of that word.

You don’t get it.

I don’t care if you don’t get it. Obviously that’s not your thing. You don’t want to know the definition and like to fling the words around.

Ok by me.

“I don’t know what’s more disturbing, the fact that in America client-attorney privilege is no longer respected, or the fact that the media is so corrupt it’s actually celebrating this gross voilation of civil rights?”

Correction: Attorney-client privilege is no longer respected for those who would dare to represent a Republican politician. It is still fully intact for Democrats, and democrats are above the law. Being or supporting any conservative causes has now become illegal, and no rights are afforded you if you are conservative or represent conservatives. It is a sad sad day. If we don’t get a handle on this, our country is over.

I had a thread pulled because I suggested that impeachment might be Trump’s best route.

It goes like this. Trump should fire Mueller, Rosenstein and anyone else he wants in the corrupt deep state. Which will result in a House impeachment, because the pubs and RINOs will fold.

All this should happen before the 2018 midterm elections. Imagine the turnout in such an election where impeachment hangs in the balance. Republicans got nothing else going for them to get out the vote.

Trump’s popularity is over 50%. If he wins the midterm for the republicans he has been vindicated and can finally be president without the deep state inquisition. Then he can proceed with a 2nd special counsel to take on Clinton and Obama.

Mueller’s inquisition will never end. It has to be stopped. Only Trump can end it.
He can end it while carrying his party to victory this November. The people will come to his rescue.

If the republicans actually convict Trump ( it takes a 2/3 vote so McCainiacs won’t be enough ) it would be the death knell of the republican party. They would go the way of the Whigs - aimless, spineless, and without purpose.

This is war. Absolute war. If Trump is convicted and removed from office he will have sacrificed himself for this country mired in corruption that knows no bounds. History will remember him for his valor.

By the way, conviction does not mean that you are banned from public office forever. That requires a separate Senate vote. Alcee Hastings was a U.S. district court judge impeached and removed from office in 1989. Today he is a U.S House representative from the 20th district in Florida.

Trump could live to fight another day.
But he won’t go down without taking the Deep State with him.

Here’s what Trump said.

It convinced me that Trump’s disappointment with Sessions is real and not some 3d chess strategy.

I said the same thing in my post #190.

Even had a thread laying it all out that was pulled by Jim.
The title “Impeach Trump” was provocative hoping to catch readers. It was also strategerie. It’s embarrassing how even Freepers don’t even read anymore. Just go into hysterics over a headline.

This is war. Let’s have a showdown.

THIS!!!!!! Well said.

Arrest Mueller for Uranium One ! ?
Sure he’s guilty, but who is going to arrest him? Trump can’t.

No one will even fire Mueller much less arrest him.

Mueller is such a dirty cop
Hounded Steven Hatfill for 5 years and never apologized when he was exonerated.
That cost the government a $6 million settlement.

Kept 4 guys wrongfully imprisoned for decades. Wrote letters to the parole board to keep them in prison despite everyone knowing they were innocent of the murders. Two died in prison. Other two finally released after 30 some years.
That cost the government the highest settlement ever $102 million.

Sessions and Rosenstein must go. This isn’t about politics, it’s about the future of our Republic.

It is obvious YOU have not listened to him, or it has been awhile. Levin has become a Trump cheerleader. My husband listens to Levin almost every night.

Sessions apparently recused himself from being AG. So dump him or swap him with another already “confirmed” cabinet member since Mitch will not do his job in the Senate either and dump that archaic filibuster rule (which is the very first act of new leader Schumkie will do).

Frankly I agree. I am stunned at the selfishness of Sessions. He is putting himself ahead of the good of the country. It’s disappointing......no, it’s disgusting.

He could fire the lot of them and dare his opponents to do something about it. Personally, I think Trump would relish the opportunity for a showdown.

There is a real question of whether Trump has the procedural authority to fire Sessions, et al.

While I agree with the "relish" attitude, this street fighter has carefully decided over these many months (as would be his style) to avoid a showdown. Of course, after yesterday he may be rethinking that position.

WTH? Pulled on FR? Hmmm.

Your proposal could be a bit dicey but might work.

There may be a problem with a Trump inability to fire certain of the actors and that may account for the threat of RINO's supporting any I&C. If the RINO's are persuasive, together with an even more intense 24/7 attack by the MSM, they just might bleed off sufficient on-the-fence R voters to prevail in the mid-terms.

In any event, I think the climate would be such that many R's in the Senate will vote to convict regardless of the wishes of their constituents. Such would be a full court press by the D's who would go to any length (perhaps with outside money) to coerce R's.
