They were last known to be in the "Klamath - Redwood National Park area," the flyer stated. Klamath is an unincorporated area in Del Norte County, north of Redwood National and State Parks in far northwest California.
Thottapilly was traveling with his wife Soumya Thottapilly, 38, and the couples two children; 12-year-old Siddhant Thottapilly and his 9-year-old sister Saachi Thottapilly.
The Thottapillys were expected to arrive at a family member's home in San Jose on April 6 but never showed up, San Jose Police Department Officer Gina Tepoorten said.
On April 8, the family member called police to report them missing.
The family was traveling in a 2016 Maroon Honda Pilot with a California plate of 7MMX138.

Guess I’m not the only one who didn’t read the link...cell phone records were being checked as well as the car for a locator system....
LOL! There are tons of suckers out there, it appears and he is preying on people like you. Sometimes the normal and routine aren’t good enough,so someone has to make things more interesting than it seems. Enjoy your thrill.
I imagine many areas of our National Parks are lacking in cell phone towers.
They exist all right. As for the other: priorities?
Thai would be my guess.
Wyoming—Nevada—Utah-—Idaho—lots of open areas.
Somebody ate a berry or something off a bush that gave them hallucinations???
Looks like they may have ended up in the Eel river
Vehicle Submerged in Eel River Similar to Missing SoCal Familys, Says CHP; Search Continues

“Their vehicle went over an embankment into thick brush”
My first thought also. Very dense terrain up there and steep drops.
That’s terrible...I never liked the 101 in CA - my husband used to say, “look down there” and I’d yell - “Don’t you dare look!” We never traveled UP on it so he was never on the side to look DOWN - always going home to S. California so I was on that side....Suppose he was trying to tell me something?
Thanks for the link..Really sad....

“”Thai would be my guess.””
I would say pretty good guess... The picture was of a handsome family - little girl was beautiful as was the wife.
OK OK OK.....return to the page you’re supposed to be on after posting and this won’t happen........
Nothing strange in Iraq. Just the IT worker in the IZ who went out on a smoke break and returned after an incoming attack to find a mortar had landed between his chair and desk. It blew a crater in the floor and perforated his chair, desk and laptop. He packed his stuff and flew out of BIAP that afternoon. I always joke that he will never quit smoking. “If I didn’t smoke I wouldn’t be alive”.

I wish someone would/could explain the disappearance of an old crippled man in a National Park only about 15 miles from my house.
He’s laid out the case, but no one has explained what happened.
When we lived in SoCal, my name for the 101 was “The 101 Death Ride”. And that was just because of the drivers and traffic. I’ve never been on any parts that were hugely mountainous with switchbacks and steep drop-offs. Sounds bad.
I did the Alcan Hwy. in 1970 and that was a terrifying experience, so I can imagine how bad it could’ve been where this family was traveling.
“WyomingNevadaUtah-Idaholots of open areas.”
Indeed! Most of those are probably worse than Colorado, it’s just that I’m personally familiar with Colorado. I live near the foothills just north of Boulder and cell service sucks. Go a couple a more miles west from here and there is no cell service at all probably until one gets to California, excepting isolated areas around a few population centers.
Not much cell service in California either until you get near the coast.
You like he Mysterious Universe podcast too?
This has nothing to do with those stories. Did you read the article where it mentions the police are already aware that a new led Honda Pilot went over the edge and into the river? This article should have made that clear in the headline.
