Grassley hates Trump as much as the rest of the Permanent Political Class he’s just slightly less overt about it.

And if he Vetos it they will scream that he must be guilty.
It will be made into proof he is obstructing justice. Proof he’s going to fire Mueller.

Evil bastards continue to lay trap after trap.

After McCain and Corker depart, I would rate Grassley as highest worthless senator from the GOP.

It is difficult to keep the players straight when both teams wear the same uniform.

Republicans really do want to lose the next election, don’t they?

Trump can moot the whole issue about Mueller by changing his oversight from Rosenstein to someone else.

There is a very simple solution to this problem:

Have Jeff Sessions switch Cabinet positions with the Secretary of Homeland Security Kirstjen Nielsen or the EPA's Scott Pruitt.

All are already Senate confirmed, so there is no chance for Senators to obstruct. Nielsen has no ties to the campaign, served in the Bush administration, and received numerous government contracts under the Obama administration. Pruitt was the Oklahoma Attorney General for six years, and supported the Jeb Bush campaign.

One factor may be that Sessions has proven to be ineffective as a reformer, so maybe the EPA is not the place for him. Besides, Pruitt is making great strides there, and it would be a shame to disrupt that.

If Nielsen or Pruitt steps in at Justice, either will not be under any recusal and will assume full Attorney General responsibilities, and thus will effectively strip Rosenstein of his oversight role for the Mueller investigation, pushing Rosenstein back down to Assistant AG status. Then either can decide if they wants to keep him in her department staff altogether.

Mueller will now have to report into the Attorney General for approvals. They can then begin to rein in Mueller, stop approving abusive witch hunt raids, and pressure Mueller towards a deadline.

And there is nothing for Congress to complain about, except to complain for the sake of complaining.

The US senate is the last uniparty globalist legislative stronghold they have left. You can tell a difference in the judiciary committees between the house and senate.

https://www.nytimes.com/2018/04/11/us/politics/special-counsel-mueller-legislation-vote.html

...The Senate Judiciary Committee plans to vote in the coming weeks on bipartisan legislation introduced Wednesday that would allow special counsels like Robert S. Mueller III to appeal their firing to a panel of judges and possibly be reinstated.

The committee’s chairman, Senator Charles E. Grassley, Republican of Iowa, was seeking expedited consideration of the bill that would have allowed for a vote as soon as next week. That pace was slowed somewhat by Senator Dianne Feinstein of California, his Democratic counterpart, who said the committee needed another week to review an amendment Mr. Grassley planned to offer...

It’s not constitutional.

Grassley needs to go.

I am afraid that sometime soon we will be without a party that represents our values. In fact, I think we’ve already reached that point.

Indeed. If they think we’re going to vote for them just to keep the Democrats out of office, they have another thing coming. I consider Trump to be a party of his own. A handful of Congress creatures seem to be with him (”seem to be” because I don’t really trust ANY of those scumbags anymore). The others - on both sides - can pound sand. I don’t care who wins and loses. They’re not going to support Trump anyway, so it doesn’t matter.

“As someone noted yesterday, this is really a trial balloon to see a show of hands for impeachment as there’s no way Trump would sign this and there’s likely insufficient votes to override a veto.”

If it’s established that they don’t have about 20 GOP Senators predisposed to remove him from office, then this charade ends.

I expect legitimate, full-throated conservatives like Marco Rubio to stop this bill while coming to the defense of DJT at the same time.

This strikes me as Mitch McConnell’s idea.

Trump would rightfully NEVER sign such a bill and they all know this. So then it seems to me this is designed to embarrass and “warn” Trump.

Once again, we see the Stupid Party always playing hardball with Other Republicans but going completely soft with any Democrat. What is it with these people?

Why are Mitch McConnell and the RINO squad providing this very, very public aid and assistance to Democrats and the corrupt MSM. This is a total PR win for Democrats served up by the Republican Senate.

I hope Republicans lose both the House and the Senate. They are snakes!

This would, in essence, lead to non-Constitutionally defined judiciary power over the executive branch. It would require an amendment to the Constitution.
