I imagine you're old enough to remember Hillary Clinton pushing back against those pursuing her and her husband for many crimes. She said those people comprised a Vast Right Wing Conspiracy. Most of us laughed at such a bizarre suggestion. Wanting people to obey the law didn't make us conspirators. One chap, though, who was with the Clintons then was the guy who now claims the deep state is out to get him. That man is our President. At all stages when we wanted to see the Clintons brought to justice Trump was for the Clintons being above the law (see the link at the bottom of my comment). And now that he's POTUS and is being looked at for various crimes and such he and his supporters have bought in to Trump's version of the Vast Left Wing Conspiracy. They claim this conspiracy is being run by the nefarious deep state, a nebulous entity they wish to demonize and destroy for the sake of allowing Trump to be above the law. Never mind that it's all just self-serving hooey, much like his pals the Clintons used to serve up.
About six years ago Trump decided to get in to politics and start at the top of a party he'd never been in before. He proved (sic) Obama was born in Kenya, of course, and gained even more fame and respect with what would become his base. Anger and baseless claims would become his motif.
Trump switched parties and nearly everything he'd previously believed and had funded his whole life to parlay his celebrity and fame in to capturing a party he openly despised. His connections to organized crime in NYC were ignored. His sense of entitlement and his lifelong animus towards Republicans and especially conservatives was also ignored. As long as he played to the boilerplate ideas of conservatives, as he understood them, which often was wrong but didn't matter, it was all fine. Trump, naturally as a New York liberal, had hated Ronald Reagan (see - https://www.politico.com/magazine/story/2015/10/donald-trump-ronald-reagan-213288). But that didn't matter. Quoting Trump, either from his books or even what he might have recently said, was considered off limits and beyond fair. His ignorance was refreshing to his greatest admirers. He was, to those who admired him, beyond reproach. A new standard was created. If you're not Bill Clinton receiving fellatio from an intern in the White House, it's not to be a factor considered about your honesty or character. Only a prig would do that.
Justmythoughts, your comment is incoherent supposition. As Trump continues to do great harm to the conservative brand, I believe you will not notice it now or as it continues to unfold. You will be a Trump man, despite his manifest duplicity, more than a conservative. That's fine. See the links if you care enough to see that the biography of your hero is going to be written using his own words and actions, not those of people in denial as to the history of the man. Those who take morality and character out of their considerations of politicians are only fooling themselves that virtue doesn't matter.

Hindsight is 20/20 as they say. All sides of the political oligarchy went knocking at Trump's door for dollars ... even some of those snobs on the so called ‘conservative’ right. He even sent dollars to Ted the ineligible Cruz. And the wordsmiths that are incapable of actually producing anything, but stringing words together for the conservatives to swoon AMEN, cause it sounds sooooo good. But they were for open borders and worshiped at the feet of the Wall Street Bull.
I never hear you .itching about the tax payer slush fund, Congress allocated for their own personal sex crimes. But you are always first in line with an accusing finger against Trump's alleged immorality. You deserved old Jezebel running things.
I can tell you where I was when it was announced that JFK had been killed. I view Trump as historically American, love of country, full of flaws, but having already made his name/brand was willing to put himself out there so the likes of you could spew spit balls.
You have no clue just how blessed you literally are that Trump won the election, fair and square... I am sick of your continued accusing finger on all things Trump. Trump is actually far more conservative than the Bush clan, lord McCain or that twit Mitt (Alinsky) Romney. This bunch destroyed the literal meaning of that word ‘conservative’.
You should not get mad at me for Trump's public sins, which he was always quite proud of. He's the one who brags about much of it, how much sex he was getting, for example. He was the one who talked about his private life to Howard Stern and others on Stern's sophomoric radio show. He was the one on the Access Hollywood tape bragging about the way he grabbed women. You might think a private citizen should talk and act that way. But I'd say most people consider it sexual assault to grab women by their genitalia. Of course, you believe that the only time it matters if a person is sordid is when he's the President of the United States, which doesn't exactly fit anything written in the New Testament or our laws.
I don't care how much Trumpian perversion you approve of. I'm just reminding you that his character is bringing us down. I don't see what the Congressional slush fund has to do with Trump. Do you think two wrongs some how make a right? Do you think that right and wrong can only be determined by politics? If Trump is so brave and such a great conservative, as you say, how did the wimpy Clintons force him to give them money? How did they force him to defend them on TV? Trump was one of the biggest defenders of Bill Clinton and attacked all the women who Bill violated, until he needed to remind people of how sordid Bill and Hillary's past was and is. Then, Trump was against the Clintons for political reasons ONLY. Trump invited the Clintons to his third wedding, after all. And you say that was only because he had to do this? Wake up and smell the coffee. Unless you believe in situational ethics that make it fine for Trump to do things but not fine for Bill Clinton, you're not being true to your principles.
See the link. It's nothing but Trump. It's Trump talking about his loyalty to the Democrats, the Clintons, and liberalism. And hang in there. If Trump's crimes lead to his removal from office, we'll have President Pence.
