At a cheaper cost than putting them in prison, I bet.
Not at the start of the country; neither was cannabis.
Prohibition did happen with booze, and for a while it fostered a huge underground market which prompted a huge surge in criminal behavior as gangsters fought turf wars over vast sums of money.
Nobody cared about cannabis until the 30s, when the nylon industry ran a smear campaign about how latinos and blacks were smoking pot and raping white women.
Our prisons are filled to the max with dopers. They are not in prison because of drug offenses, but because of the real crimes they commit while using.
Follow the facts: More legal dope leads to more illegal crime.
I suppose the question is: who cares if you can?
As long as you dont affect others.
No, 100k people a year from alcohol. Virtually no one from pot. Everyone that wants pot already does so.
Thanks for the ping.
See post #34 :)
“With more research, the body of evidence of the damage marijuana causes just keeps growing. Yes, it can kill directly as well as indirectly, it causes brain damage, it causes addictions with all of the classic behaviors of addicts, it decreases users ability to function, etc. etc.”
When you can actually prove this please lay out all the evidence for us to see.
Furthermore, why not just lead with the “evidence” you assert exists?
After both my mom and mother-in-law saw the CBD benefits for their arthritis, I recently purchased a roll-on pain reliever for my arthritis and it kicks in quickly. And I picked up some under-the-tongue drops for overall pain which helps relieve neck pain from a 1999 auto accident.
After a friend gave me some butter she made so I could get some decent sleep, I tried my hand at making my own butter and it works very well. I was sleeping up to 5 hours a day but now I get at least 7 hours, sometimes much more. I’m nearly 60 and I’m finally sleeping well after years of trying everything out there.
“Legalization of Marijuana will be this nation’s epitaph.”
Naw. Apathy will be this nation’s epitaph.
In Russia, supporters for legal marijuana high all-time.
*cough*
get off the stage!
Meh. Who cares?
Is it hard to make butter?
My concern, besides stinking up the house, is monetary: it seems like to make anything with it you need enormous amounts of pot, and I am strictly small time.
Once I had a surplus crop and tried my hand at making keef, the precursor to hash. It took an enormous amount of pot to make a tiny amount of keef.
I’m going to laugh if you get glaucoma or any other disease that can’t be treated in any other way, then turn into a cannabis champion overnight.
Can totally see that happening.
Which existed well before marijuana was legal in any state.
Youll see a joint in there someplace.
And a few 40-ounce malt liquors.
You want legal dope? At what cost to our society?
Anybody who before legalization avoided marijuana due to its illegality, will after legalization be remain the sort of responsible person who doesn't impose cost on society.
Who legalization will cost is the cartels.
The article is in line with other polls, e.g.:

Are you high right now? Perhaps I should get high. This run on mish mash might make sense then.
Are you high right now?
Haven't been high for over 20 years.
This run on mish mash
Perfectly grammatical (apart from that stray "be"); I guess I didn't notice it was at a grad-school reading level on the Flesch-Kincaid scale because I successfully completed grad school. Parse it this way:
Anybody who before legalization avoided marijuana due to its illegality [subject]
will after legalization remain [verb phrase]
the sort of responsible person who doesnt impose cost on society. [object]

Butter isn’t difficult to make. It really depends on how much time you want to spend on it. To make it worth your while, it can take a lot of product and it’s time consuming, but it could last many months.
Leaf works well. Grind it up, put in a crock pot (outside), add whatever amount of butter you want to make, depending on what you want for potency, add some water, cook for 24 hours on low, put it in the fridge so the water/butter can separate, then make whatever you want with it.
It tastes terrible but very much worth the good nights sleep. Sugar is the key to making it taste better.
I won’t smoke pot (or anything for that matter) but the oil and vapes can do wonders.
And now my wife is getting the help she needs from pure CBD in pineapple/coconut chew-ables.
A friend of mine died last year from Crohn’s disease but pot could have helped him tremendously, possibly putting the disease in remission. He was biased against the idea which really made me sad as people can’t get over the pot hurdle, no matter how much good it does.
I really enjoyed reading the story of that kid in the UK with the lamellar ichthyosis condition who received great relief from lotions mixed with cannabis oil after nothing else helped.
“Pot use is an indicator of a serious moral and social crises in our country.”
I believe it’s a return to sanity for the following reasons.
Before I started using cannabis in 2015 I was severely depressed, eat up with anxiety & I weighed 289 lbs courtesy of zero energy or drive to do anything remotely resembling physical activity, let alone exercise. I was on multiple medications for depression, anxiety & insomnia. I was miserable & so was my wife who had to endure my unpredictable moods & by her own admission walked on eggshells for many years due to my illness.
I started using small amounts of cannabis daily in Feb 2015, By the end of 2015 I was off the antidepressants. By the end of 2016 I was off the benzos for anxiety. By the end of 2017 I was off the insomnia meds.
As I got better in 2015 I became aware of my physical body again & immediately started a low card diet & began walking every day. Since I began using cannabis in 2015 to this very day I have lost 93lbs of flab & I walk over 130 miles a month now on average. Physically, Im in the best shape of my life since I was in my early 20s & my mental state is vastly improved. After many years of my mood being in the ditch I am now able to experience joy & happiness once more.
Since Floridas voter driven MMJ program came online I have had the opportunity to meet some incredibly awesome people. The majority of them are Trump supporters, no less. I see & hear from other patients who talk about how much better their lives are since they began using cannabis medicinally.
Id love nothing more than to see some of FRs vocal cannabis prohibitionists come to our town & meet me & these folks whose lives have been changed dramatically for the better by using cannabis to treat their ailments & diseases. Even more, Id like for them to hear 1st hand my non-using wifes account of how cannabis has helped me & by extension improved our life together in many wonderful ways.
For many of us walking this earth cannabis is a wonderful medicine. Period.
Im glad marijuana has been of great benefit to you medicinally. But you have to know that dopers and potheads have used and abused the medicinal values as they attempt to get legally high and stoned to the bone on an every day basis.
