Going to call it what it is. A good start. Still a long way to go and there will be many hurdles to get over. The Norks realized that they no longer have a nuclear program and Trump still has a bigger button. However the key point will be how long it takes Kim to draw down his conventional forces.

Agree completely. When the artillery gets dismantled, you’ll know.

Korea is one of the most screwed over countries on earth. Not a lot of people talk about the fact the Japanese tried to have the Koreans exterminated. China has been no friend either.

If this happens, it will be a massive step back from the precipice.

Oh really. They’ve signed peace treaties to end the Korean War in the past? C’mon.

If we can turn him into another Ghadaffi, who really cares if he’s gone or not.

President Trump with one hand tied behind his back by the harpies trying to overthrow him has accomplished to much good for America and now the benefits of strong leadership are spilling over upon the world.

One could imagine our position in the world with Madamn (SIC) President
Hillary at this same point, taxes up, GDP down, how many more Ambassadors murdered in the middle east, but the Clinton Foundation and Gift shoppe would be flourishing and Bidden and all the DNC would be open for selling off bits and pieces of the good ole US of A.

Did I mention open borders and billions of Muslims and South Americans pouring over our porous Southern Border?

Yes, God Bless Trump and the good sense of the American Voters who put him in office over that foul grifter thief.

They did not sign a “peace treaty”. They signed a mere political declaration and they have signed such declarations in the past. It is a con job the North has been pulling many times. It is done for the media and looks wonderful but in the end the North reneges on its own declarations. It’s politically not a big deal because reneging on a mere declaration is not the same as violating a treaty. Trump can easily scrap the deal with Iran because not being a treaty he is not legally bound to it. The North plays rope-a-dope with “peaceful” declarations.

Yes, and if, IF, this happens, I hope the asian countries don't blow the peace the way we blew it with the Russians. After the wall fell, we had an opportunity to establish much better relations, but corporatist carpetbaggers sandbagged drunky Yeltsin leading to the rise of the reprobate Pooty Poot.

Blessed be the Peacemakers! When will Trump be honored with a peace prize? Better than Al Gore’s Slide Show about the false mythology of Global Warming, and Obama’s single speech that produced no real results. i wait to see what the Kim/Trump meeting and the results of that meeting. Get back the citizens they hold—and the Japanese and the old USS Pueblo they hold. Sell them some grain and rice!

Pretty sure Trump is aware of all of that. We’re not kn charge—He is. Sit back, smile, bask in the sunshine and peace of the moment. And thank God Trump is our President!

MAGA!!!!!

My pessimism you clown (calling ME Ben Rhodes) unlike your false optimism has nothing to do with Trump. It’s history, and the factual history is that the North has signed such declarations in the past. They have in the end meant nothing in practice actually changes. It’s a rope-a-dope play.

“””The two leaders are expected to sign a peace treaty later this year, officially ending a war that began 65 years ago.

Hopefully they go through with this all the way and sign the treaty.

Total BS

The Russians were pretty much destitute. My smal company was there and had trouble responding to all the requests. For instance, the main library in St Petersburg wanted to buy some simple PC’s. They had no means or resources to pay for them. Fax machines were in very high demand. Again, no resources to pay.

Some tried to pay with a transferable bank document provided the company as security for payments from a foreign government. The communists sold weapons and were paid with a sort of IOU entitling the seller to payment due from the foreign government paid in the foreign currency. This bogus device was however valid for the Russian manufacturer to borrow from the russian bank to meet payrolls.

THe Russian communists quickly became capitalists and took over businesses and industries. They never understood the difference between revenue and profit. They took the revenues and deposited them in switzerland.

The Russians had the same or even better chances to save them selves than China. China had the braains and initiative to take the opportunity and go forward. The stupid Russians did not

Don't get to enthusiastic. Hitler also promised in writing not to invade Poland and signed a "Non Agression" pact with Stalin. Those treaties both lasted as long as it was expedient and then broken as soon as they had served their purpose.

Little Rocket Boy's a brutal, uterly ruthless, hard line communist, Stalinist dictator whose word isn't worth spit.

As usual, all he wants is time AND OUR MONEY. to continue to prop up his failed hermit kingdom. Once he gets what he wants... all bets are off

Yes - this is a regime that has made a common habit of publicly silencing any and all opposition with brutal force ... including friends, family and common villagers. On top of that, there’s close to a century of hostility that doesn’t just get set aside easily.

I would definitely ask the question: ‘what’s his game here?’

Now how could this be? I thought Trump was gonna start WWIII and we were all going to die from a nuclear attack.

At least that’s what the fake media told us.

Just like with Reagan.

But what happened?
