Why don’t they put the dogs out for adoption? A lot of people would LOVE to have dogs like these!

Totalitarian police seem to love killing dogs.

Ah, according to Law that would be killing a police officer.
Who will they send to jail for that one?

Why dont they put the dogs out for adoption? A lot of people would LOVE to have dogs like these! I'm sure the human handlers who have bonded with these dogs for years would take them as family dogs, if permitted. This is just extortion.

I am generally not on board with marijuana legalization, but self-serving and manipulative comments like these from law enforcement make me want to reconsider.
Umm, why doesn't the Police dog handler adopt the dog?

The article states the dogs are trained to find narcotic substances. Pot is not the only substance they are apparently trained to find, and pot is still illegal as far as the feds are concerned.
This is just plain stupid, or fake news. It does not make sense. However if true, then sell them to other states. That would save the dogs and bring in revenue. Or as others have suggested, adopt them out.
If this is true, it’s utter insanity! But, considering Illinois is dominated by Chicago votes, we are talking massive corruption both gangster and democrat style.

This sounds like a version of the old National Lampoon gag:

"...Police agencies invest thousands of dollars and months of training to teach dogs to sniff out and alert officers to the presence of various illegal narcotics, including marijuana, cocaine, heroin, and other drugs...." And yet the police or their dogs are flat out wrong in 50% of their searches. Simply guessing would yield the same or better results.
Dogs are used as a pretext for searches. It is a way to go around the Constitution. That's wrong.

Why don’t you read the article to find out?
.... I think it’s absurd that the cop would make this threat but I also find it very frustrating that people post without reading the articles.

This has to be from The Onion. Too absurd to be true. If it is true, well, the people thinking of this plan won’t be meeting their friends at the Rainbow Bridge. It is cruel and senseless.
Joe what do you think? *doggie ping list*
