It was called Usenet. I miss the days of current-events-clinton- swhitewater. Sure there were trolls, but censorship is worse.

Language was unmoderated so faint hearts were weeded out early.

Were Twitter a true public forum one would not have to sign up for an account in order to post to it.

Doesn’t matter - the court ruled it is.

Second, if the tables were reversed and the government ruled Breitbart's comments section - or Freerepublic - were public property, we'd be howling. This is an egregious and stunning overreach - legislating from the bench in the first degree.

I don't think this ruling is Twitter per se - it's Trump's Twitter account. It says that Trump, in his personal account (not a gov account for POTUS), can't block anyone. It's a complete bullshit ruling violating his personal side.

I totally agree that the terms whereby users grant FB a "Non-Exclusive, Transferable, Sub-Licensable, Royalty-Free" license to their IP are lopsided.

But, again, nobody is forcing anyone to put their thoughts and pictures on FB or Twitter. Further, the market is already responding- many individuals don't post their content to FB; they just post links to the content, thereby retaining the copyright AND denying FB the aforementioned license. Indeed, there are websites that guide people how to build their own email servers. If it was good enough for Hillary, it's good enough for us commoners.

Yes, this is hard work. And it's not cheap. But the price of freedom is eternal vigilance. I would love for a court to rule that FB et al can't write contracts the way they do, but the moment I let my feeling so empower the govt, I have effectively made my soul that of a Democrat.

Yeah, I often wished FR had a ignore button like a certain chatroom has that I frequent.

Why?

Can't you merely ignore them by yourself?

I've no reason to read any BS from someone that has shown lack of civility in the past.

Dated material!!
OPEN immediately!!!

Manages to sail into my outbasket without nary a glance.

Out of the crypt early I see. Did your fellow vampires get sick of you as well?

Somebody else has written to me asking to use Human Vomit Troll but I’d hate to see someone stealing your label. It fits like a glove.

Hope you don’t feel the need to resort to your Posse List! Be a grownup and don’t call for backup for once.

I worry that some nitwit with a burner phone or a library computer will upload a child porn picture and tag the President in it, so that when he goes to pull his feed, it will now be in his cache, and putting him at risk. Frankly, I wouldn’t put it past a leftist Regressive to do something vile like that.

Among other things, this decision seemingly prevents a politician from blocking large volumes of spam directed at his official accounts by political enemies.

Bingo! It doesn't take more than 15 minutes of reading President Trump's Twitter feed to come to the conclusion that his detractors have zero intention of engaging in debate, their sole purpose is to hurl insults and demean anyone who supports the President.

Methinks that was the exact intent of the court with this ruling too.
