Canadian soldiers have more recently joined our own units to fight in Iraq and Afghanistan. They’ve been very courageous, selfless and have done exceptionally well. Canadian forces personnel also work and train here in the States in conventional warfare training and for our ultimate defense (nuclear-related forces). They work more with us now than the U.K.

See my previous comment for my suggestion on the tariff issue. Not so long ago, Canadian oil companies invited U.S. prior servicemen to work in their oilfields for great pay.

I can attest to the Canucks being part of TF KBAR in 2001-2002 supporting operations in Afghanistan, which was at the behest of the US.

“The Europeans and the Canadians have been getting away with their one-sided trade war for so long, they don’t know what to do. Time for them all to put on their big boy pants.”

Perfect statement! None of them are happy that for once, America isn’t willing to continue to be their financial patsy. Trump needs to keep hitting home how the world literally has been living off of the United States. That the financial status quo is over with. Everyone of them “expects” that America will continue to be their trading sugar daddy. When I reflect on how much our “foreign policy” has cost us for half a century, it really pi$$es me off!

Canadians spent very little on defense these past 70 years, and why the alligator arms....because Uncle Sugar was defending the world and they could hide under his coattails.

The burning of Washington by the British was, in part, in retaliation for the American burning of York, known today as Toronto. This was reenacted during the World Series between the Toronto Blue Jays and the Atlanta Braves. Oh wait, Atlanta was burned by the Union Army. Never mind.

“They didn’t fight along the side of my son in Iraq!”

Don’t be so hasty to say something so false and disrespectful. At least one Canadian Freeper did a tour in the recent wars. Many went to Iraq in both Iraq wars. Many have been in Afghanistan. Some of them were attached to our U.S. Army units in Afghanistan.

It should be common knowledge to our fellow Americans that many Canadians fought with our soldiers in Iraq, so I’ll post on a very few of the links in regards to Afghanistan. I don’t have time to post many links to information about both Iraq and Afghanistan.

Notice that the population of Canada is not much different in number to that of California. The number of people in the Canadian Armed Forces proportional to its population gives Canada about the same portion of personnel per population that we have in our U.S. armed forces.

As I said, Justin Castro is beside the point.

No - I’d just like the rationale stated. It’s one thing to say “they weren’t ally-like” and completely another to say “they’re dumping Chinese steel on our markets”

That’s all.

A free and objective press would, y’know, bother to report that...

Thanks for the post familyop, I lost good friends over there, and was lucky myself more times than I care to admit.

I consider the Americans my brothers in arms as well, and would fight just as fiercely with them as I would with mine again as the need arises.

Tell that to Europe, who’s been bailed out twice by the blood of America’s youth

And your POS country would fall like a house of cards if we weren’t protecting your sorry asses

Western Europe and Canada would have never been able to finance their Socialist utopias without the United States footing their entire defense bill.

The minuscule amounts they spent for their part of the NATO defense budget didn't cover jack sh!t and instead of creating even better economic models and infrastructure they threw money at all the unproductive people.

"But this thread is about him and WHAT he said; ergo, no he is NOT “beyond the point” at all."

Focus on Justin Castro's false argument then. Canadians also fought with U.S. soldiers under U.S. command in the Korean War and World War 2.

You're not only disrespecting the Canadian troops. You're disrespecting us.

Canadian oil companies invited U.S. prior servicemen to work in their oil fields. Put some of the Canadians with prior service to work in our U.S. steel industry, if they want to become legal permanent residents. They can work alongside Americans and become Americans. That would be better than sucking in half of Africa, the Middle East and the countries south of our southern border.

What's really important here, is that the new steel jobs be limited to states that are more American in culture in the Midwest. ;-)

They aren't allies.

Yep.

The only reason they seem to be our allies is because we have allowed them to suck off our teat. If they actually have to go it alone they will fall apart in no time as even now they have overstretched their Socialist ability to run and fund their countries.
