The original article has been corrected. She was not pardoned, but had her sentence commuted.

Well, I find her A$$ to be too big.

Will that opinion be detrimental to my case?

Although I am at the opposite view of you regarding drugs, I believe all drugs should be legal, I absolutely agree about the inequality regarding drugs.

Excellent post!

A life sentence seems pretty harsh for any first-time offense, other than malicious homicide.

If you could make all drugs legal you would first need to find a company stupid enough to manufacture it with all of our liability laws.

Mind meld! I was thinking the same thing last night. He verges into political prisoner territory.

I don’t care about Martha Stewart. She’s walking free and not suffering in that way.

Well, she does have that crippling lib mindset.

> I thought he said death penalty for drug dealers. I must have misheard him. He must have said amnesty. <

You and I are evidently in the minority here. But I agree with your sentiments. This woman was not imprisoned for possession. She was imprisoned for trafficking.

Most news articles about her case are ignoring that. Instead, they focus on the “nonviolent” nature of the offense. Well, most drug trafficking is nonviolent. It’s all about moving packages. Any violence is secondary.

I suppose her life sentence was a bit extreme, given that it was her first offense. But lives were destroyed because of her ring’s actions. Commute her sentence...maybe. But a pardon? No.

Fake news from Axios as usual. Her sentence was commuted, she was NOT pardoned. She will still have the case on her record she just won’t have to serve more than 21 years for passing phone messages about coc deals on. Doesn’t seem like a bad deal to me. 21 Years is pretty long for a first offense.

[was she a dealer?]

From the Daily Mail:
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5787699/Alice-Johnsons-daughter-calls-Kim-Kardashian-Godsend.html
{At the time of Johnson’s February 1997 sentencing, federal laws mandated a life sentence, despite the fact Johnson was a first-time, nonviolent offender.

US District Judge Julia Gibbons, who sentenced Johnson, called the then 42-year-old the ‘quintessential entrepreneur’ of the drug ring.

‘And clearly the impact of 2,000 to 3,000 kilograms of cocaine in this community is very significant,’ Gibbons said at the sentencing.

Johnson is now 21 years into her life sentence at FCI Aliceville, in Aliceville, Alabama.

During her time in prison, Johnson has displayed exemplary behavior, become an ordained minister, a published writer and a prison tutor, a biography from Can Do Clemency reports.

Johnson is now hoping President Donald Trump will grant her freedom after being denied clemency by Obama.}

Axios made the correction, and so did I, in post #21

OMG!!

Get DHS on this guy now, as he is starting to see how politics works: You have to give to get.

If you have nothing to trade you get nothing. And that is why I believe the Mueller investigation will stop one minute after the Hillery investigation begins.

And in reality, a great many of the convicted murderers don’t even serve a life sentence in this country.

Lives are destroyed when packages of alcohol and tobacco are moved.
