Disaster ? Our standard of living is the highest it’s ever been because people in other countries want to buy our things. Everybody benefits.

In case you haven noticed the USA's middle class shrinking and wages are stagnant due to off shoring of US industries. Maybe you missed the 2016 election or did you vote for global girl Hillary?

As always, you are wrong and your overly broad thoughts on globalism are just foolish

Trade makes the world go round

Also, put a 50% tax on any money wired to Mexico.

That simple little sentence, if followed through and enacted upon would bring Mexico to it's knees within 30 days or less.

Someone just needs to be TOUGH enough to act upon doing it.

So your solution is to raise domestic prices and loose American jobs? Also, the middle class has not shrunk over the past few generations. I will grant you they did not do well under Obama but compare what we have now, our lifestyles, our possessions and by extension our wealth to the middle class in the 50s, 60s and 70s. It’s night and day. All that time we benefited from being part of a global economy .

No, I never voted for Hillary and would never do so

Reagan an isolationist “America Firster”? Who knew?

You should really know something about the topics on which you speak. He absolutely favored free trade and saw it as a way to increase every ones standard of living.

OK, Reagan put import quotas on motorcycles and cars and saved both industries. We're you born yesterday?

We certainly don’t have Free Trade now, if anything, Trump is using the threat of tariffs to try to get us closer to real Free Trade.

Then why did he give a bogus "national security" argument? Why would he want free-er trade if he thought that that would truly harm our national security.

I can tell you what would really hurt us- a recession would put us a severe disadvantage in negotiating with other countries, let alone open the door to a Dem victory in 2020. As long as the economy is humming along (and it sure looks like we are on the path) Trump and the GOP win in 2020.
