I was and I am. I didn’t think he was electable in the ‘16 election.
The Mueller probe started in May of 2017 and had nothing to do with the election of Senate Majority Leader. The new Senate and House always gather to vote on the leadership soon after the election. In this case it was Nov. 16 or so for the Senate.
I could be mistaken, but between the lines, you may seem to suggest that Trump is going to use his influence to pressure the Senate to pick someone else. Is that correct? And because of the events after the election, Trump just couldn't be bothered and that is why McConnell got elected. Am I interpreting you correctly or not?
Were you ever a great admirer of Trump?
Lots of them would like to be Leader of the Senate.
Trump was afraid of McConnell going against him on Russia. He still wants the Probe to continue. The Mueller Probe may have started in May of 2017, but they were talking about Trump and Russia since he was elected. Jeff Sessions recused himself after the SOTU in 2017.
Yes
I found him....jarring at first. I think I was more numb than anything else, thinking the overwhelming likelihood was that we would get a Jeb or a Kasich or Rubio or some other version of full on stupid mediocrity that HRC would walk all over and the story was pretty much over. IOW, let’s just run the Dole, McCain, Romney tape again.
Gradually I warmed up to Trump, and it slowly coalesced in my mind that the functionality not just of driving liberals crazy, but driving them so nuts that they would quickly reveal just how bats**t they were, was working.
I’ve always admired him as a businessman, I was a bit slow to accept him as electable.
Again, Trump has zero input as to who is Majority leader. That is a very personal vote, taken in secret and these senators vote for whom they want for a number of reasons.
Recall that thing in the Constitution about separate branches of government. If Trump tried to intervene and bully the senators to vote for whomever he is supporting, it would have the opposite effect. It would poison the senate for however long Trump is president. Trump would be sabotaging himself. It would be a complete disaster. You are clueless.
"Lots of them would like to be Leader of the Senate", but you can't name a single senator!!
Just to let you know Cornyn is expected to be the next leader when McConnell retires - that is not much improvement, if any.
“Lots? - who are they and how will they beat McConnell. Just as I thought, your post is just simple happy talk - no substance. Wouldn’t it be better to just state I really don’t want McConnell to be Senate leader anymore and let it go at that since you really have no idea what your are writing about.

Ted Cruz.
You’re dumb. I told you that Trump has zero input with the NFL, yet he comments on the NFL. In my post, I said I hope they get rid of him, moron. I didn’t say it will happen. He doesn’t have to bully anyone, just make speeches. Just say that you’re a McConnell fan.
You said this, “I do know that polls are amazingly accurate and have proven themselves over the decades.” “The exit polls are amazingly accurate and as you have noticed have not been wrong at all during this elections season.”
I never "claimed" or declared anything at #47 Dave. Read back.
I said at #47, "I'm thinking 2020 could be the biggest blowout win in election history for Trump". That's not a claim nor a declaration Dave. It was simply a thought.
And my answer to your question is based on the fact by the time 2020 get here, in addition to what Trump has already accomplished, he'll blow the doors off any Democrat regardless of what Democrat candidate they run. That's it...Nothing else. There was no "Claim" as you stated. Get it right Dave.
Now, let me recap. On this thread you not only made disingenuous comments alleging things I never said, but then you weren't man enough to answer my question, which was ask of you first. You instead demanded I answer your question first. That looks pretty darn bad for you Dave.
I have now answered your easy question. So are you going to answer my question at 47? Or will you continue your Democrat tactics of ducking, dodging and evading? It should be easy for ya Dave, since you've beat your drum up and down this thread telling all about your keen political knowledge.
Man up Dave. Are ya going to take my question or continue your evasive Democrat tactics?
I immediately found him...like a breath of fresh air, after being gagged for decades. An outsider, a real person who couldn't be bought! The first time in many years I saw real hope for the U.S...My first thought..this guy was going win and make a whole lot of enemies in the process. I believe I mentioned all that day he announced his candidacy.
Funny how perceptions can vary that radically from person to person.
