You can tell them that they are behaving like a spoiled brat or something similar.
If my late father had called me a “pig”, that would have caused me to regard him with resentment and contempt.
Words hurt. In the past, my mother has called me stupid and retarded during one of our vicious arguments. It took everything I had to not haul off and slug her in the face. I still have some resentment towards her for some of the things she has said and done during one of her violent, childish tantrums.
There are better ways to handle a troubled teenager than to call them hurtful names. He is (supposedly) the adult and should have handled their particular conflict better.
