The backflipping FBI agent who accidentally shot a man in the leg at a Denver bar earlier this month was arrested Tuesday and faces charges of second-degree assault, according to Denver Sheriff Department records.
A spokesman for the Denver District Attorney’s office told HuffPost 29-year-old Chase Bishop turned himself in Tuesday morning. Bishop could face additional charges based on the results of a pending blood alcohol content analysis.
“We are filing this charge now rather than waiting until the BAC report is received, which we understand could take another week, because sufficient evidence has been presented to file it,” Denver District Attorney Beth McCann said in an emailed statement. “If an additional charge needs to be filed after further evidence is received, we can file those charges then.”

If you or I were that stupid - on all accounts - we would have woken up in the drunk tank or worse in the AM.
Kind of like the Sheriff call the Deputies ‘dad’ to come and take him home rather than arrest him.
Doesn’t matter what happens later, it is the initial reaction and there should have been no ‘favor’ given the idiot.
I was under the impression there has to be ‘intent’ to be charged with assault.
Is there not some other charge just as serious that would more accurately describe what happened?

The leaders of the FBI have been rotten so long, its obvious that the corruption must have spread through a significant segment of the ranks.

He is being charged with assault because it is not only a serious charge but not appropriate for this incident. That way he will get off and not be able to have any real charges filed against him.
