Some years ago I applied for a job with the FAA. Two FSDOs interviewed me and wanted to hire me. Then, I was told by one FSDO manager that he had been ordered to hire “more women and people of color” instead. They hired someone with 1/3 of my qualifications and 1/3 of my experience who was “a woman or person of color.” Happy flying!
