Live Coverage: Peter Strzok Questioned by Members of Congress
House lawmakers are poised to question Peter Strzok on Thursday in what is sure to be a lengthy, tense standoff between Republicans and the FBI agent who once worked on special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into Russian interference.
Strzok has been in Republicans' sights for several months after a Justice Department inspector general investigation revealed that he exchanged text messages before the 2016 election that were critical of Donald Trump with Lisa Page, a former FBI lawyer with whom he was having an affair at the time.
Mueller promptly removed Strzok from the Russia investigation when the messages were revealed, but Republicans have zeroed in on him as key to uncovering what they allege was systemic FBI bias against Trump during the election. Democrats, meanwhile, have cast the effort as a politically-driven charade.
Lawmakers questioned Strzok behind closed doors late last month — now, those on the House Oversight and Judiciary Committees will have the opportunity to question him publicly.
Strzok is under subpoena to testify before the committees in the public hearing.
Strzok plans to call scrutiny ‘another notch in Putin’s belt’

Strzok reportedly plans to tell lawmakers that the focus on his anti-Trump text messages is aiding Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The Associated Press, which reviewed prepared remarks Strzok is expected to deliver, reported that the FBI agent will defend himself against the intense scrutiny from GOP lawmakers by saying his work has been free of political bias.
“Let me be clear, unequivocally and under oath: not once in my 26 years of defending my nation did my personal opinions impact any official action I took,” Strzok will say, according to the AP.
He is expected to tell lawmakers that Congress’s focus on his actions and text messages “is just another victory notch in Putin’s belt and another milestone in our enemies’ campaign to tear America apart.”

I also despise Sessions. Let’s be honest, Rosenstein is already running The a DOJ. How much worse could it get with Sessions gone?

I think their voting on whether or not to subpoena Steve Bannon. It seems that the democrats got mad that the Chairman was going to have a contempt hearing later because Strzok refused to answer a question. Then some democrat said that Bannnon was not cited, so they want to bring him back to see if they can get a contempt citation. Just a ridiculous attempt to slow the hearing down.
The Democrats have nothing with which to defend Stroke, so they’re falling back on hypocrisy.

yes, motion to subpoena Steve bannon, for some reason. I guess they think there’s some hypocrisy in letting Steve Bannon not answer questions from his testimony.
The Pubs motioned to table the motion to subpoena Bannon, and that’s what they are voting on now.
The dems wouldn’t take an “aye’s have it” vote, and insisted on a roll call vote, even though they KNOW we have more members in the committee.

After that little prick got done with his rant about how the FBI could never let that happen because of all their integrety I would have followed up with this...
Mr. Strzok, Was the FBI Director fired? Was the Second in Command at the FBI Fired? Did the FBI lead Lawyer get fired? Were you removed from the Mueller Council? Was Bruce Ohr removed from his duties? Was Lisa Page fired?
I have no idea. Just more deflection from the Dimms. It didn't pass.
