The new talking point by the left since job numbers are so good is that many workers are working two or more jobs. Actually it is only 5.2 percent. An improved job market affects the part time market too and more part time jobs are available for those who want more income and are willing to work.

The percentage of the labor force with multiple jobs has been fluctuating between the high 4. % and low 5.% since 2008 and during Obama's administration.

I have seen several Democrats on TV trying to sell the multiple jobs lie. They must get a morning email from rat central and then off to work.

It is not uncommon here for waiters, waitresses and bartenders to hold more than one job especially with hours cut to 20 hours/week or less.

College students are a significant factor in the "Not in the labor force" number.

Instead, many are using "student loans" as an income stream for living expenses.

Dave Ramsey had a teacher call in with $185,000 in student loan debt!!!

She explained that it was common for students to use the loans like free money.

A consequence of Obamacare legislation requiring all employers with 50 or more "full time" employees to offer health benefits.

Ocasio -Cortez says people holding two jobs is the reason the unemployment rate is low, LOL. Not only is that nor true as the data you provide shows, but the rate is calculated on whether a person has a job at all is employed. It’s like these dummies think there is a set number of jobs. Idiots!
What they are getting at, I think, is raising the minimum wage.

Doing multiple jobs is a time honored American tradition to improve your family’s circumstances. Years ago I took a VERY early part-time (3-4 hours) morning job handling packages for UPS before I left for my full-time job, That allowed me to make max retirement contributions and build up funds for my family.

And then there are the bums, maybe 16 to 30, who just won’t work but to victimize the rest of us.

Retirees are a significant factor in the "Not in the labor force" number. Anyone who isn't institutionalized is basically considered a potential worker in the U.S. The simple truth is that most unemployed people today are either unemployable or they have no interest in working.

“the minimum wage should be $1,000,000.00/hr!”

Then a loaf of bread would be a bargain at $250.000.00.

Yeah! And free healthcare and free college! And a year paid family leave, then free daycare!

True. Hyperinflation is the cure for all our ills. Social security is suddenly solvent, you’ll get back every penny you’ve ever put into the system, and entry-level employees will be a very affordable hire!

And we’ll finally get a flat tax, with everyone in the top bracket!

When I was a pup, I worked two part time jobs and carried a full course load. At least half the kids I knew in college were doing the same. That's why God blesses you to get by on 4-6 hours of sleep at that age.

Now that I am in my 60s, I keep my workweek to a much more reasonable 50-60 hours.

My Mom and Dad used to work two jobs every July-October, so that they could buy Christmas gifts for us four kids. That was in the early 70’s.

My wife had a part-time job, but got pregnant. She couldn’t work, due to her health during this pregnancy, so I took on a part-time job - and this was while I was on active duty in the Marine Corps!

Also, many people have multiple jobs due to other circumstances. My sister drove a school bus in the mornings and afternoons, and then did after-hours, apartment cleanings, so that she could be with her kids! If she took a full-time, 40 a week job, she wouldn’t have been able to spend as much time with her kids and she would have had to make twice as much money, just to pay for before and after school daycare for them!

The idea that more and more people are doing two jobs JUST TO SURVIVE is just more of the same Democrat fear-mongering! In all fairness, some people are working two jobs for survival, but not ALL of them are, AND the numbers are NOT climbing astronomically. There are a variety of reasons people have two jobs!

Of course, the Democrats lying about the cause and effect of things is normal; they do it all the time - look at the whole “the majority of bankruptcies is due to medical bills” claim. It is NOT due to medical bills, it is due to living BEYOND YOUR means and then having a huge medical bill cripple the rest of your finances. In other words, they were already drowning in debt, but the medical bills give them a perfect excuse to wipe everything clean! Studies have ranged from 18%-62% of bankruptcies are caused by medical debt - that is a HUGE disparity. I am willing to bet that the Democrats used the 62% studies to make their claims!

Shoot, I worked 3 jobs at one time when I first started working: contractor by day, restaurant at night, and as a weekend salesman...

You do what you want and have to do, and capitalism allowed me to do it....
