In the hotly contested 1st congressional district primary race, late entry Ed Case soundly defeated his opponents in Democratic Party voting today.

Case, who jumped into the election in June and changed the dynamics of the field, had 44,788 votes to Lt. Gov. Doug Chin’s 28,284, a 39 percent to 25 percent lead, with most of the votes counted late last tonight.

Doug Chin , the former State AG , who ceaselessly and frivolously sued and blocked President Trump , from day one , has crashed and burned in his first attempt at elected office . This is huge ! Of Ed Case , a former Congressman , we know this " During his last term in Congress, Case was a member of the Blue Dog Coalition, a group of fiscally moderate and conservative Democrats." Perhaps this will improve the face' of Hawaii before the nation a little bit . People like Chin have denigrated the perception of us as being a den of seditionists and lunatics . EVERY single Democrat socialist and Trump hating ,Bernie Sanders inspired Democrat failed and was defeated in the Primary yesterday , except one . Tulsi Gabbard . May this will cause Miss Tulsi to smell the coffee?....

Hawaii is a one-party socialist state, so this effectively ends the elections except for a run-off election between two Democrats in November.

Ed Case scored an 81% left-wing lifetime rating from the ACU for his 4 years in Congress (2002-07). I expect he will adjust his voting record to more in line with the “mainstream” ultraleft wing of the Dems today. If Hawaii wants to get serious, it’ll stop electing Communists.

BTW, I’m not sure what the fuss is over Tulsi Gabbard being a “moderate”. She has a 93% leftist lifetime rating. Hanabusa’s is 96%. Both of them got a 96% in 2017. The two Senators scored 100% perfect moonbat ratings.

Case jumped in at the last minute because he realized the rest of the leftist progressives would split votes between themselves and he could position himself as the more moderate candidate. Also, since he was the only haole (white), he knew he would get a lot of that vote also.

EVERY single Democrat socialist and Trump hating ,Bernie Sanders inspired Democrat failed and was defeated in the Primary yesterday , except one . Tulsi Gabbard.

I find the Bernie Sanders Democrats much less objectionable than the Hillary Clinton Democrats, social justice warriors and identity politicians that characterize much of the party. While there is a lot of disgusting pandering to the dividers from the Sanders Democrats, they at least profess a desire to help all Americans rather than building their message of identity and mistrust and distrust of others like the social justice types.

As far as Gabbard is concerned, she receives abuse from the Trump haters in the Dems because she met with President-elect Trump after the election. Why should we look at Gabbard worse than the dividers and haters?

Gabbard is not one of the usual screaming hyenas so that’s OK. Rather her than whoever would be sitting in her spot.

Gabbard is and has been my Congresscritter for awhile now . The 2nd Congressional District is almost always unopposed here in Hawaii due to a totally ineffective Hawaii Republican Party. Possibly the most ineffective state Republican party in the entire nation . That coupled with the strength of incumbency here makes her almost unassailable at this point . Yet she has a partner in Congress , and that will now be Ed Case , not Trump hating Colleen Hanabusa . I’ve watched Ed’s career for years and I have never been disturbed by anything I have seen from him . Although here on FR he clearly has his detractors . My joy is that HE CRUSHED DOUG CHIN , whom I hate and despise . Fro that alone I am completely pleased that Ed Case won last night . The deep disgrace of Doug Chin will be history . I hope the President realizes what happened yesterday , out here in Hawaii . One of his worst gadflies has crashed and burned . Hoorah !

Chin was defeated, as was the backstabbing RINO-turned-Democrat Beth Fukumoto in the primary. But, frankly, if you’re going to have a Democrat in these seats, why elect one who tries to put on a moderate face while they vote moonbat when you can elect someone who is open and honest about being a nutter ? Those do more for the GOP for contrast.

I was looking at the State Senate seats, the only body in the U.S. that has not a single Republican serving. What’s a disgrace is that only 4 Republicans are running (in the 12th, 17th, 18th & 21st districts) with a 5th for a special election in the 19th. A cursory glance at them and it appears only the 12th (last elected a Republican in 2004) has a remote chance. The incumbent Dem, Brickwood M. Galuteria, lost renomination.

Yes sir , you can chalk ALL of that to the utterly ineffective and feckless HRP ( Hawaii Republican Party) It has been slipping for years . Who knows why exactly , but as an organization HIRA is a much better organization , yet it gets no support or recognition from the national RNC . It should !

I have watched the HRP maneuver itself into near uselessness , for years , with complete incredulity . It’s not that there are not Republicans or Conservative independent patriots out here , there are plenty . However lost have given up on voting , I think. They just bellyache after t he fact . IF they would ever turn out en masse , it might be different , but they don’t . Ever ...What will it take ?

In a river of poop (Hawaii democrats) a rotten apple core (Case) seems palatable. Though you make a good point it’s really a double-edged sword. In this case (and in the Case of DiFi vs. Whatever his name) I think we’re better served by having people that vote the right way a little bit of the time instead of almost never. It pisses off progtards and leads to more acrimony of the rat party.

ANY chance for the GOP Gov candidate?

Frankly , I see zero chance for any R Gov candidate . The only decent candidate , a former USMC aviator , lost in Primary (Ray LaRoo)For all the fine words of the present HRP chairwoman , Hawaii R’s seem about as dispirited and unmotivated as is humanly possible. Now those that are HRP loyalists will strongly contradict that their motivation is low . But they are so few . Just look at and compare the number of votes cast for ANY D , and those cast for ANY R. They tell the story . The R’s are just not voting . I am sure they exist but they do not come out in sufficient numbers to rock the vote ( at all) . If this under motivated complacent trend continues , Republicans may never see the light of elected office here again . To blame it on the HRP leadership is easy , but it is also the fault of all the R’s sitting on their hands , at home . There was a Tea Party wave here years ago , but Karl Rove came in and convinced the HRP to try to totally repress any influence from “those uncontrollable people” Rove’s very words , quoted verbatim . About Case , I do not care what some people may say about his Liberal ratings or whatever . I have personally voted for him many times , years ago and he never disappointed me once . He’s just a good old local boy and smart enough not to buy into this phony-baloney mainland imported Democrat socialism BS . Case’s defeat of pencil neck LibProg super geek , Doug Chin , is a MAJOR big deal here ,and I am personally very grateful that Case stepped in and ended up axing Chin . Chin was being touted to an easy win to CD-1 . We missed that curse ! Because of Ed Case . A big plus in my book . I almost don’t care what Case does or doesn’t do . The fact that he axed Chin is enough for me . Beyond Hawaii’s political scene , to get rid of Doug Chin benefits the entire nation and our POTUS . I’m stoked !

I looked up the voting record of the GOP nominee, House Minority Leader Andria Tupola. Alas, the voting record of every GOP member is summarily terrible. 70% leftist from the ACU in 2017.

http://acuratings.conservative.org/wp-content/uploads/sites/5/2017/07/Hawaii_2017_web.pdf

Only two members of the HI House got 40% Conservative (the highest rating), the ex-Minority Leader Gene Ward and Democrat Sam Kong.

As Leo said, there’s next to nothing to motivate voters to go for the GOP (especially when they’re so terribly left-wing). Tupola might get 40%, but it turns out Ige wasn’t as damaged as we might’ve thought (I thought he might lose to Hanabusa).

I’m not surprised to hear Tokyo Rove being responsible for obliterating the Tea Party insurgency. That scum did incalculable damage to the GOP in siding with old and corrupt establishment interests over young reformers. He worked hard to recruit Lamar! in my state (after his phony promise in 1996 he’d never run for office again) for the Senate in 2002 to stop the excellent Conservative Congressman Ed Bryant, who was cash-poor.
