Hawaii is dropping its legal fight against President Donald Trump’s travel ban on citizens from several mostly Muslim countries after the U.S. Supreme Court upheld the policy.

The state attorney general’s office voluntarily dismissed the case Monday.

Lt. Gov. Doug Chin sued to stop the travel ban from taking effect when he was attorney general last year.

“Although we were disappointed by the United States Supreme Court’s decision upholding President Trump’s third travel ban,” current Attorney General Russell Suzuki...

So many of these Hawaii Dems play musical chairs with their elected or appointed offices . When LG Tatsui quit I thin Gov Ige saw a chance of getting rid of his uppity activist moron AG by coaxing him to become LG . Without inflaming or infuriating Chin’s lunatic Leftist Sanderista base . Unplugged from the suit process , Chin salivated after higher , actual elected ( not appointed ) office . In that case U.S CD-1 . Then came Ed Case , who has held that very position in the past . Finally , without angering the Leftwing fringe dwellers , Chin could finally be shown the door . Got to say , the Hawaii Dem machine is smoooooth ..... We’ll see what comes next . Chin remains LG until whenever . Hopefully the POS will cause no further trouble before he’s gone .

Whats up with them having to decide to give up?

SCOTUS gets a Ton of Appeals. IMHO: Most are rejected through the fact that not enough members consistently take up the appeals and give up (0 of 9, 1 of 9, 2 of 9). Sometimes the court gets pissed off by the repeated same claim already ruled on and says the appeal is dismissed "With Prejudice".

I don't know the details of this case. Can someone with more details help here?

U.S. Federal District Court judge Derrick Watson is/was the culprit and Chin’s co-conspirator in issuing legal assaults on the POTUS

I am surprised they did not go all the way and launched RPGs at the Supreme court with the help of antefa. We are not far from liberals budgeting this.

“Whats with them giving up the legal fight? Didn’t it end with the Supreme Court ruling?”

That’s where you get to the specifics of the ruling. If it’s an Absolute Ruling, like Roe or Gay Marriage, then it’s over.

But if it’s a ruling that implies something like “try again, but from a different angle”, then they can keep at it.

That’s why it’s critical to get LARGE HARD-RIGHT majorities on the courts, otherwise the rulings will be weak.

I’m wondering if SCOTUS didn’t contact the HI AG Chin and state his case is denied from lack of jurisdiction because it was illegally filed in a Fed District court when SCOTUS is court of both first impression and appeal.
