Fox News legal analyst Gregg Jarrett said Saturday on Fox & Friends that he believes Attorney General Jeff Sessions will be fired after the midterm elections.
His comments come after a court filing uncovered by Judicial Watch revealed that no FISA court hearings were held regarding warrants to spy on former Trump campaign aide Carter Page.
Jarrett said Saturday that the Supreme Court should get involved in order to prevent future abuses.
He said that a show cause hearing should be held to determine why Justice Department and FBI officials involved shouldn't be held in contempt.
The Justice Department released documents in July that were used by the government to justify the FISA surveillance warrant against Page.
In the warrant application, the FBI said it believed Page was "collaborating and conspiring with the Russian government."
As Fox News previously reported:
Though heavily redacted, the documents show that the infamous and unverified Steele Dossier was a major component of the 2016 surveillance warrant. ... The visible sections of the released FISA documents do not indicate the dossier was ever verified. Instead, the FBI claimed that [Christopher] Steele was reliable based on his previous work.
Jarrett added that a special master should be appointed to preside over the show cause hearing.
"Somebody who's neutral and fair, who can objectively look at the facts," he said.
He said that he believes President Trump will declassify the documents that Congress is seeking.
"And then I think after the election, [Attorney General] Jeff Sessions will be fired." said Jarrett. "I would select somebody like John Ratcliffe (R-Texas) to replace him."

It has to be a 2-fer firing or we’ll be stuck with Rodentstein.
Sessions had been such a disappointment.
I’d still like to see the guy surprise me, but I just don’t think he has it in him.
I’d be very happy to be proven wrong on this.
The Silent Executioner is doing exactly what POTUS wants him to do.
Go Jeff!!!
John Ratcliffe ???
Sessions’ only hope is to get Huber to indict a couple of Ham Sandwiches in the next few weeks...
Though I’m still waiting to see the long-game, I think if Sessions is bad that Pres Trump needs to fire every person from the top level through the 4th level associated with Sessions. And yes, I mean including every person, no matter how small their job is, including the janitorial staff.
He should be arrested , indicted, tried, convicted and sentenced to prison for obstruction of justice.
I had hoped he had some big operation going on behind the scenes. That’s looking less and less likely.
He’s been there this long, and with all the corruption he couldn’t come up with bupkis.
I honestly don’t get it. He must have known the public were anxious to see some people FINALLY called to account.
I don’t know what the answer is, but if what you have in mind could do the trick, I’d be all for it.
If the Pubbies hold the House and Senate, we will likely see a more aggressive POTUS going after the Deep State scum.
The ole Machiavellian warning: if you go after the king, take him out — or you might not live long enough to regret it.
[So far, ‘they’ have failed.]
Who is Huber ? The guy in Utah ?
“Who takes over? Rosenstein???”
The President can appoint an interim Attorney General for a year-With Senate Confirmation. Our only hope is Trump appoints a Deplorable, and not the Rino crap he tends to appoint.
From your mouth to President Trump's ears.
I meant With-Out Senate confirmation.
Duh. We’re way ahead of you, Gregg.
Sessions a good guy?
why did he appoint a known crook like rr.
and rr immedietly appointed a guy who hates Trump.
apparently there is a guy waiting in the wings to replace rr.
why aren, the they talking about canning rr?
Yep.
So far, Sessions excuse for doing nothing.
That particular cartoon has always bothered me when I see it.
The bloody mess. I’ve learned to just keep scrolling before it finishes. I get the metaphor of frustration.
To each his own brand of humor, right?
Of course, I didn’t even like Garbage Pail Kids Trading Cards, from back in the 1980’s. Those cards were banned in my neighborhood schools. They put the “G” in Gross!
