Kenneth Starr Still Getting Hardballs
Townhall.com ^ | September 12 | Brent Bozell and Tim Graham

Twenty years after recommending to Congress that then-President Clinton be impeached for perjury and obstruction of justice, Kenneth Starr has written a book about it. Surely, with the passage of time and many other books exploring the Lewinsky affair and the other Clinton scandals, Starr can be treated with dignity and respect.

Back then, he faced ABC's Diane Sawyer calling his Starr report "demented pornography, pornography for Puritans."

Twenty years later, nothing has changed. In a Sept. 10 interview on "CBS This Morning," anchor Norah O'Donnell brought up one of his lawyers: "One of the things we've learned the Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh worked on your team, worked on this investigation of President Bill Clinton. He wrote and suggested some very explicit, salacious questions should be asked of President Clinton, but you didn't agree to do that. Why?"

Starr reasonably replied: "we wanted to respect the dignity of the presidency, and I think that we did that. But we at the same time had to get to the bottom of things."

Here's another way of putting this: Clinton said under oath there was no sexual relationship between him and Monica Lewinsky. To CBS, asking Clinton about it was "very explicit" and "salacious."

O'Donnell also said: "Monica Lewinsky has said the release of the Starr report, the 445-page report, was one of the worst days of her life. She wants an apology. Will you apologize to her?" Starr said, "No, I won't, because, unfortunately, the facts are the facts." It was a perjury investigation.

Another way of putting it: Why is CBS asking questions as ridiculous as Lewinsky's demand?

We wish Starr had noted that this taking offense at "salacious" material was a strange stance for CBS after "60 Minutes" jumped at the chance to get the first interview with porn star Stormy Daniels accusing President Trump of some "very explicit" stuff.

Starr was also interviewed on NPR's "Morning Edition" on the morning of Sept. 10. Anchor Steve Inskeep, best known for long, warm, fuzzy White House chats with President Obama, began by asking Starr about Lewinsky: "Do you think that the violation you found was worth more than four years of investigation?" Starr had to remind listeners that he investigated not only Lewinsky but also savings-and-loan corruption in Little Rock, sending to jail the sitting governor of Arkansas (Jim Guy Tucker) and crooked bankers Jim and Susan McDougal, then-real estate business partners with the Clintons.

Inskeep argued "history" would ignore all of the non-sex stuff: "ultimately, what history is going to remember is that one charge, the perjury accusation involving Monica Lewinsky. Was that worth it?" So Starr should have ignored perjury committed by the president of the United States?

The taxpayer-subsidized anchor was upset that Republicans seem to approve of Trump calling special counsel Robert Mueller's probe a "witch hunt" ... because they approve of Trump's job performance. Starr disagreed, saying, "we agree with 80 percent of his policies" but not how he tweets. Inskeep attacked Starr's sincerity, saying, "Isn't that kind of dissembling, though, Mr. Starr, because that is the heart of his presidency, is what he says publicly and the attitude he strikes?"

How can Inskeep sound outraged about a president attacking a special counsel when he's interviewing Ken Starr, who was eviscerated publicly by Bill Clinton & Co.? Apparently that's fine, since 20 years ago the media compared Starr to Nazis, truck-bomb terrorists and Sen. Joseph McCarthy. Back then, "witch hunt" talk was all the rage.

Starr did the job he was paid to do — let Big Media portray him as an incompetent bad guy, and exonerate a guilty Clinton.

What was frustrating was we knew Clinton was raking in millions from the Chinese, selling them high tech military secrets, tried to give them the Navy base in Long Beach, on and on down the line, he literally saw the head of China’s defense industry more than he did Monica, and yet all we could get was Starr investigating his sex life.

When someone would ask about the real scandals, they’d be told that DOJ was looking into it, and couldn’t discuss it.

When Bush took office, and people asked about the real scandals, Bush told us we needed to just move on.

The Lewinsky investigation came up because of an on-going #metoo charge by women who’s worked with Gov. Clinton, who abused the power of his office to intimidate (via police force) and harass women possibly including rape.

The Lewinsky case proved the tactics by the Clinton team of perjury, buying testimony, silence, threats and intimidation, leaking aspects of the investigation to the media and then attacking the investigator, on and on.

Saying that the sex stuff should be forgotten is like saying the prostitutiin aspect of why the Watergate bugging happened should also be overlooked...

The explicit descriptions of sexual activities embarrassed me. Legally, I suppose they needed to be in the report but couldn’t Congress (who the report was delivered to) have blacked them out in the public version of the report?

Vince Foster was murdered. So Starr investigated a five-figure, 20 year-old land deal. Bait and switch much?

The BIG LIE is still going on-—

1. Clintooon was in court because he tried to rape Paula
Jones-
2. there was an ACCOMPLICE- a paid law officer guarding
Clintooons hotel door- but this time he INTERupted
the attempted Rape-
3. Clintoooon started lying- I was never there- I never met Paula Jones- But there was testimony from a law officer-

4. I could go on- But IN COURT- Clintooon was caught LYING
And Subournation of Perjury TO MULTIPLE PEOPLE!
paid off Paula
paid the fine to the court(his lawyers had to quit)
was disbarred -
5. Since then multiple women have come forward (more then 20) of this psychopath attacking them- NOT SEXUALLY
harassing them but BEATING and Raping them-

THE MSM still pounds on Lewinsky- she was a willing! slut for Clintoon- they IGNORE the true story and conviction of this Vile person

How willing was Monica to lie?

Vernon Jordan sought a job for Monica and others directly contacting Ron Perelman of Revlon...

We also know that Clinton cronies intimidated people with violent threats and public character assassination in the press.

Vile person? I have a story told to me by a married couple on a ski lift in Vail. It was after Clinton made his first Johnny Carson appearance and I wondered to them,” who was this guy?” So they told me their experience with Clinton. Back in those days there was a gathering of high level Democrats at various resort venues and these people were there, as they were connected Democratic big wigs. They had brought their 16 year-old daughter with them. Walking on the beach with the Clintons, Bill gave the girl his room key and suggested she visit him there. Wisely the girl told her parents and they left the resort.

At least one couple didn’t vote him in.

At the time this occurred, anyone in public life who was exposed for wrongdoing, quickly resigned.

Starr was acting under that rule.

What we did not know then......the Clintons were a different breed.

They had not an ounce of shame nor did they have a conscience.

We learned later they BOTH were obsessively ambitious——they literally had no other goals in life.....and the well-being of the country mattered not a whit to them.

They were in politics to get rich quick——and NOTHING was allowed to stand in their way.

Monica wrote that she finally met him in a restaurant. He was very polite and concerned for her but didn’t apologize so she said it was “creepy” how he touched her arm.
