On Tuesday morning, Brett Kavanaugh accuser Christine Blasey Ford's expected testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee was being called the most-anticipated event in Washington in decades. By Tuesday night, the whole thing appeared to be off.
Through it all, as Democrats scrambled and re-calibrated their position, Kavanaugh appeared extraordinarily confident.
Ford says that in 1982, when she was 15, a drunken 17-year-old Kavanaugh forced her onto a bed, tried to undress her, and covered her mouth with his hand at a high school party.
Ford revealed her identity in a Washington Post article Sunday. Democrats immediately began calling on Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, to schedule a hearing. Early Monday morning, Ford lawyer Debra Katz told CNN that Ford would appear if asked.
"Will your client, Christine Ford, be willing to testify in public to the Judiciary Committee?" asked anchor Alisyn Camerota.
"The answer is yes," said Katz.
Calls grew through the day for Grassley to agree to a hearing. Late Monday afternoon, the chairman said yes. Committee rules call for a week's notice for hearings, so Grassley said the panel would meet next Monday, Sept. 24, to hear from Ford and Kavanaugh.

She never had any intention of testifying. The demand for FBI to investigate proves that. It will never be enough for the lib dems. They will never be satisfied because they want to stop this confirmation at all costs. This is just one more delay tactic. Next It’ll be a bomb scare when they try to vote.

It’s obvious to me that this woman has several screws loose. She’s in the middle of a mental breakdown right now. As she’s turned out to be useless to the Democrats, they will fume and obfuscate, but Kavanaugh is on track for confirmation.

There's a lot of talk in the MSM today about the FBI taking the step to investigate Anita Hill's allegations against Clarence Thomas. These talking points ignore two things:
1. Clarence Thomas was formerly Anita Hill's boss, so Hill was interviewed as a matter of course when the FBI was doing its routing background check for him as a Supreme Court nominee.
2. When Hill made these accusations, she formalized them in a sworn affidavit. Whether the allegations were true or false, they carried legal weight because of this document.
Item #2 is critical here. As of now, this "Betty" Ford hasn't done anything more than send a letter to a member of Congress and then reveal her identity in an interview with the Washington Post. No credible law enforcement agency will conduct an investigation into an allegation that dates back 35+ years based on this kind of idiocy. Ford hasn't even filed a formal complaint or completed a police report detailing her accusation against Kavanaugh.
I'm sure Ford's lawyers already know she's lying ... not because they know there are a bunch of holes in her story and they doubt the accusation is true, but because they surely advised her that a sworn affidavit would be a strong piece of evidence to support her claim, and she's refused to do this.
She is outright lying to serve the liberal agenda. Anyone who would support the murder of unborn babies for the sake of convenience wouldn't mind lying to protect that ability.
They say she studied with Monica Lewinsky.
They ought to dig up her old classmates and find out what they have to say.
This whole thing may have helped Kavanaugh. The GOPers who were on the fence will probably be more likely to support him now due o what appears to be an unjustified crucifixion.
Feinstein will now lose. Be opponent is further left than her and a number of GOPs like me will vote DeLeon rather than leave Senate blank
