I see people fastidiously washing their hands in the workplace restroom only to pull on a filthy door handle to exit! It's like pissing into the wind! Unless you want to live like Michael Jackson and wear gloves and a facemask in public, wiping down everything before you touch it, there is really no avoiding the germs. Then Michael Jackson goes ahead and dies young so in the end, what was it all for?
yes
no i get it- I’m not overly worried about it- and really there isn’t much we can do to avoid it unless we become like Monk I suppose- I just always wondered if thigns liek salmonella and ecoli etc were spread through thigns liek that- or cross contamination, even i nthe home, placing chicken on counter, then touching things beofre you wash hands, etc- they did a show once showing a typical chicken prep where person lightly washed hands, but then touched things liek towel, silverware, pots, etc- and salmonella was everywhere-
I just think people get sick from time to time and might blame it on a cold, not knowing it could be from contamination- Just a thought i had, not that I am going to change, I still have lousy cleanliness habits- and will never change-
Sounds like you went to school with Bart Simpson.
I am at least going to wash my hands with water. I make extreme effort not to touch any handles, doors, fixtures, etc.
I’m an old lady and have been to McDonald’s just ONCE in the past year-——brand new kiosk there.
I refused to use it,the lady wanted to show me the ropes ,I said,”Nope,I like human interaction better than screens.”
I went to the counter and ordered my iced coffee.
.
I wont touch toilet seats with bare hands. Never thought much about tearing off the first few sheets.
I travel a lot and spend a lot of time in hotels. I use a lot of their towels as mats in the bathrooms. I wear socks most the time in the room. Ive realized my socks probably gets a lot of germs from the floor and I hate putting them back in my luggage and bringing them home.
A lot of hotels Used to have coffee makers and cups in the bathrooms. Some still do. No way I would use them.
This article is a few years old but very telling ....
